I say silly things and somehow that has proven to be very controversial. If your posts show your IQ is close to refrigerator temperatures, you will be muted.

@SpeakSamuel You’re right. We should cancel and send home every Indian whether they are on visas or not.

Waiting for a consular appointment was already a problem for H-1B holders, but several policy decisions have made this issue much worse: 1.) The Trump Admin reversed a policy allowing them to renew their visas at any U.S. Embassy. Previously, visa holders could find a consular office with the shortest waiting periods and book an appointment there. Now, an Indian applicant needs to renew their visa in India--which has ridiculous waiting times. 2.) The Trump Admin removed a pilot program that allowed H-1Bs to renew their visas stateside--allowing them to wait out the bureaucratic process in the US so they could continue to work and be with their children as their ability to re-enter the U.S. is pending approval. 3.) The Trump Admin required that children and seniors be physically present at a consulate and get interviewed for visa renewal. The previously policy waived interview requirements for children under 14 and seniors over 79. The lines for getting your visa renewed extend far outside of the physical building. Imagine waiting hours line in India during over 100 degree weather--and you have to bring your baby with you. Imagine having to do this as a senior citizen. The Trump Admin needs to reverse these policies ASAP.

This H-1B worker has lived in the US for nearly 20 years and built a family here. His mom was dying in India. To visit her, he would need to wait months to book a consular appointment--with the soonest one available likely being scheduled one year out. He made the difficult choice of not visiting his dying mom because leaving without an appointment would mean separation from his children, job, and his other obligations. Much of the commentary around immigration focuses on how such bureaucratic burdens undermine immigrants’ ability to contribute and innovate. But we must remember that this red tape also prevents these people from being fully engaged with their own lives and meaningfully present in the lives of others. This matters too, and these seemingly non-economic problems will eventually translate into economic costs. If America is no longer a place where people feel empowered to be the best versions of themselves as they celebrate, struggle, and grieve, it ceases not just being the land of opportunity, but also the land of dignity and purpose. linkedin.com/posts/gautam-d…

It's true in the sense that it's not a pure democracy like Athens, you're correct. When people say that though that usually isn't the distinction they are drawing, and instead they are trying to erase the fact that we're a democratic republic and representative democracy is fundamental to republican government.

I'm not missing any point. Making your kids go around doing work that doesn't scale to teach them some medieval lesson and telling them it's a "path to making 150k" using the money to pay for "code school" is stupid as hell. It is no better than you saying your generation must have been smarter because when you were 8 a bag of chips was 50 cents. Everyone I know whose parents "Taught responsibility" by encouraging this sort of thing do not make 150k a year. Being a programmer at that $$$ level requires that the time you spend pressure washing your own ass is instead spent programming. Working at AWS makes 250k a year. Making a Fortnite Game Mode can net you millions of dollars a year. Pressure washing doesn't help you do that lol. I was doing programming and graphics design by age 12, entrepreneur and economics by 15, advertising by 18....etc etc. Continual constant learning processes IN MY FIELD. Not wasting time having some guy yelling at you for taking a sip of water and missing a spot lol.

@GMShivers You're missing the points Ramsey is making. There is work to be done, that pays well. It requires initiative, that's his point & mine as well. 3 White collar men took time from their regular jobs to complete a job, because people are too busy complaining on the internet to earn.

@WallStreetApes The last small town hotel like this I checked into, the clerk was out front smoking a joint, it reeked of weed everywhere and she STAYED out there staring at me while she finished her joint. 5-10 mins. Then came in looking annoyed and checked me in. That's why you get Rajneesh

The future is here Hotels are testing out no longer hiring Americans to work the check-in desks Instead, guests will be checked-in via a video call to a worker in India This is in Ames, Iowa and is being seen in multiple states. Estimates say as many as 80% of hotel check-in workers could be replaced by this technology in America There needs to be regulation against this

why do people care so much about this stuff? you can disagree with the choice but like, unless they are diddling kids or robbing banks or driving drunk into pedestrians, or something, like who cares. you don't have to try and sleep with this person. there are plenty of "normal" looking people doing terrible things that we for some reason don't care about.
