@OrevaZSN For the same reason professional athletes make ungodly money. Because that’s what the market (us) are willing to pay into the systems and products they provide. Just because you think they don’t deserve it doesn’t mean the money isn’t flowing that direction

Why is it that actual human jobs like baker, florist, teacher, and childcare worker barely pay a livable wage, while fake jobs like AI specialist bootlicker, marketing campaign parasite, and synergy consultant are pulling six figures?

@tommysantos14 One is the free market being interrupted by government to prevent it. The other is government saying we’re not going to do the job of the market because that is not the role of government. Government led to the issue, that does not mean new government is required to help

Can you imagine being this fucking clueless? The party of personal responsibility wants to go back years, to the nearest Democrat president, to blame them for the fucked up management of an airline by its leadership. Trump literally, in the present moment, DIDN’T HELP THEM EITHER. No, it is not Biden’s fault. It’s the fault of the company’s management. A third grader could have arrived at that basic conclusion. Who takes this shit seriously?
@amuse@amuse

SHUTDOWN: Biden’s DOJ killed Spirit airlines by blocking its merger with JetBlue forcing it into bankruptcy twice. Spirit is likely shutting down now and JetBlue will lose $1B this year. Together they could have survived, now both will likely fold. When government puts their thumb on the scales we all lose.

@FloodingLong @ZealousSeraphim They are logically equivalent, as you said, therefore why are not equivalent choices? This is why framing matters. By using a button, people will be lulled into a false sense of security because it is just a button. But you still die just like with a gun

Putting a gun to your head is not the equivalent of pushing a button even if the outcomes are logically equivalent. If you present that scenario, I would be extremely highly confident that vanishingly few people will choose the option equivalent to blue, and therefore I'd choose red with you.

The blue button is the only just option, because in the event that blue loses people who don’t deserve it die. It’s better to risk your safety for the sake of others than to save your own skin.
MrBeast@MrBeast

Everyone on earth takes a private vote by pressing a red or blue button. If more than 50% of people press the blue button, everyone survives. If less than 50% of people press the blue button, only people who pressed the red button survive. Which button would you press? BE HONEST.

@C0l1m @IamJMKS @GoodPoliticGuy No, I believe it is necessary, but I mostly believe that no matter the optimal choice, fear of not knowing how others will behave will effect a huge amount, if not majority of other people’s votes. Most people do not “game theory” they choose for themselves

@FloodingLong @ZealousSeraphim You walk into a room and out a gun to your head. You tell me you will die if I do not also put a gun to my head and convince someone else to do the same. No, I’m not picking up the gun. You chose to pick it up, you were not forced or obligated outside of your control

@C0l1m @IamJMKS @GoodPoliticGuy We have a different perspective of this scenario. That’s fine. I inherently don’t trust a global vote, you do. This will not change, our fundamental views are too separate and that’s okay

@fajnerady69acab @GoodPoliticGuy Study? Do you mean the Twitter polls where everyone can talk and share their opinions before hand? Globally, with no conversation before hand, I truly believe that most people will see a gun and choose not to put it to their heads without considering the after effects

@SuhSpence99 @GoodPoliticGuy yeah, based on EVERY FUCKING STUDY blue always wins and people are normal. i know red button people are super emotional but facts dont care about feelings. people are normal and understand that blue is the way there will always be like 20-40% psychos. but most are normal

@FloodingLong @ZealousSeraphim So why am I responsible for the people who make the choice to press blue? Why does their choice have to affect me? It doesn’t. I think of personal responsibility in this, you put the responsibility on others

Can we please just tell the truth
The fact that it's a nebulous hypothetical is exactly the point. If I could somehow be guaranteed that 100% of people would vote red then I would too. But in a "nebulous hypothetical" like this I know that very many people worldwide are gonna vote blue, as a psychological inevitability. So, I'm going to try to have them not die. If you and others would just not vote red then none of us would be in any danger to begin with: the asymmetry is that I know some people will vote red still, but I only need 51% to vote blue for no one to die, rather than needing 100% of everyone to vote red for no one to die. And, not overly valuing your own life if it means saving others is a fundamental Christian virtue.

@C0l1m @IamJMKS @GoodPoliticGuy Yes, and this is not it because both get punished the same way if they mess it up. This is a different scenario where one is asking others to gamble to ultimate price and others choose whether or not they are willing to pay that price

@SuhSpence99 @IamJMKS @GoodPoliticGuy Most people actually will see that. Your mind is aberrant. Pressing red only enters your mind if you assume the majority of other people are some combination of malicious and retarded. Are you familiar with the prisoners dilemma if i may ask?

@FloodingLong @ZealousSeraphim No, they don’t start there. They choose to go there of their own accord. I choose not to. I cannot control what you chose and cannot see what you choose before I choose. It just makes it clear the button kills you rather than a nebulous hypothetical

@SuhSpence99 @IamJMKS @GoodPoliticGuy Its not altruism. Its rationality. Red winning makes the world worse for everybody. Blue winning is in everybodys interest. The actually difficult version of this problem(prisoners dilemma) has an incentive for pressing the red button.

@C0l1m @IamJMKS @GoodPoliticGuy But blue won’t win because many many people will choose red for the guarantee. I cannot trust most of humanity to think of it in an altruistic way, therefore I must do what I can for myself. Otherwise I died trying to be noble, but I’m still dead

@SuhSpence99 @IamJMKS @GoodPoliticGuy I agree that they are selfish. Blue winning is in everybodys self interest. There is no incentive for pushing red except the fear that other people push red (who have no incentive either). Again, like testifying in the prisoners dilemma if there was no reward for it.

I'm not saying it's murder, but it's also a mistake to frame red as the default as you are. You have to press one or the other. If everyone presses blue, nothing happens. If 51% of people press blue, nothing happens. If everyone presses red, nothing happens. If 51% of everyone presses red, billions die. So it *is* literally you saving your own life at the expense of others. "He who loves his life will lose it..."

@fajnerady69acab @GoodPoliticGuy Or it can also be someone understanding most people are scared of death and greedy. Red will always get a huge number from that alone, therefore it will always be a gamble for blue. You cannot convince most people to put the gun to their head. That is incredibly terrifying to do

@Johnm1291 @HTownJayhawk @GoodPoliticGuy Exactly. People argue “some children press blue!” Well some press red. If their child presses red and they chose blue trying to save them, now their kids have no parents. It’s a two way street and I’m surprised people struggle with that
