Walk into hospital with alcohol withdrawal. They will tell you to quit drinking. Walk in with lung damage from forty years of smoking. They will tell you to quit smoking. Walk in with type 2 diabetes, the disease of dysregulated blood sugar, the textbook condition caused by too much glucose passing through a system that can no longer handle it. They will hand you a tray of cornflakes, fruit juice, white toast, and a small pot of jam. Then a nurse will come round with the insulin trolley and act surprised when your numbers go up. Every other condition gets the obvious advice. Diabetes gets the food that caused it. Have a think about why.

Ok, so I had my neurological appointment, and first things first, no one tried to give me a pelvic exam. Sorry. I do dark humor when I’m stressed out. It turns out that there are about a billion tests they want to run. It’s too early for any kind of official diagnosis, but they did note some weakness in both arms and my right leg, as well as balance issues and a tremor, the former being especially bad when I close my eyes or stand on one foot. Like I said, they’re running all kinds of tests, including blood work and an MRI, although my insurance is being a pain about the MRI. Testing is focusing on the possibility of some kind of demyelination. On the plus side, I scored 26/30 on the memory test, so whatever it is, it’s not messing with my short term memory.

@elizaclove Myasthenia gravis tests ASAP. There are some very rare variations you should test if symptoms still fit and regular testing is still negative. Obviously, make sure you are not anemic, vitamin deficient, protein deficient also, as this can change

Not sure if this is an ME thing but my arms are so weak. Changing the bedding, lifting anything above my head or even holding my arms up is a no. I have muscle but I get this weird intense ache and it makes me feel sick.
