A couple of impressions from the convention. Room full of super good people. I could not help but notice that other than a few of the candidates nobody was going out of their way to speak to Ben Proto. Almost like he was at the wrong convention. Hmmm.

Today is Day 2 of the GOP convention. Party endorsements will be decided for Gov and Lt. Gov. Today is also the Democratic convention for the party endorsement for statewide offices, headlined by Gov Ned Lamont facing a challenge from State Rep. Josh Elliott for the endorsement. No other incumbent is expected to face a challenge but we will see if anything develops.

I can't think of a better example of failed leadership than the CT GOP. Trying to jam through a nomination for Erin Stewart's LT Gov candidate is all you need to know about CT GOP leaders.

How can you force a primary when you have a State GOP that controls the narrative ? You were there as was I … it was a fait accompli from the minute that convention door was open. The leading candidate in the race was basically thrown out for massive fiscal corruption and she orders her supporters to back the opposition candidate who was behind the unmasking of her. Instead of going directly to a primary and allowing the constituents to have a say they force through a pseudo convention. Ben Proto and the GOP never wanted Betsy McCaughey in the race… the sad thing was the weak delegates that had promised their support and vote than caved after pressure from the machine. They know who they are …

We have our gubernatorial hopeful and that is @ryanfazio. I personally applaud the efforts of @Betsy_McCaughey and wish a primary could have been forced so she could further get her message out there. I still see her as a force in the CTGOP picture. Time to win in November!
