If I give my savings to NTMA for 5 years I earn 0.59%pa tax free. Whereas I can buy a 4 year Irish Government Bond paying nearly 3%pa with most of my return tax free. Even after costs I’m making nearly 5 times as much interest with a shorter holding period

@SimonHarrisTD It would have been nice if you allowed students who changed courses free fees for the second course for students during the pandemic.

The €1000 reduction in college fees for eligible students is now taking effect with refunds landing in accounts or bills being reduced. This will help put money back in people’s pockets. Extra student grant payments next month & increased grant rates on the way. More info here
