On World Health Day, the IFI Foundation, a member of the World Stroke Organisation, launched its flagship campaign, "Spot Stroke, Save Lives" at U.N. (Autonomous) College of Science & Technology, Adaspur, aiming to build a generation of young "Stroke Spotters" trained to recognise and respond to stroke.
Bringing together educators, healthcare experts, and students, the program fostered a shared commitment to building a stroke-aware society.
Dr. Lulumina Dash, Principal, U.N. (Autonomous) College; neurologist Dr. Maya Gantayet; and Nilambar Rath, Co-Chair & Mentor, IFI Foundation, highlighted the vital role of youth as catalysts for public health awareness and community-level change. Dr. Hiranmayee Mishra, Administrative Bursar; Shri Harihar Sahoo, N.S.S. Programme Officer; and Pranati Parida, Co-Chair, IFI Foundation, also graced the occasion.
The event featured an engaging audio-visual module on stroke recognition and management, along with the release of campaign newsletters and awareness posters for wider outreach. Participants also took a Stroke Awareness Pledge, committing to spreading the life-saving message within their communities.
As part of the IFI Stroke Initiative, the program also marked the launch of a six-month flagship campaign on Prevention and Management of Stroke, leading up to World Stroke Day on October 29, 2026, with a focus on promoting awareness, prevention, and timely action across communities.
This program was supported by outreach partners OdishaLIVE and Swasthya Plus Network, and industry partners Utkal Chamber of Commerce and Industry Ltd. (UCCIL) and TiE Bhubaneswar.
