The potentially armed rapist is currently at large in Chicago parks / beaches. Why is no news outlet covering this? This happened in broad daylight on Saturday at 1-2PM with children on the other side of the pier. Anyone’s child could have walked around the rainbow lighthouse and been raped/killed by him. I was told to call the police non-emergency phone line which has no one answering it. Police arrived 15-20 after and he had already left. I was told something would be done ‘if I see him again’. (In 20 mins after I call again) Is this the level of safety to expect in Chicago public spaces? And the silence from the press and govt on these violent crimes common in Chicago?

In Chicago, I had a black man show he was armed, try to r*pe me in the middle of the day blocking my only exit from a beach pier. I was saved by a couple showing up and surprising him. The original police response didn’t even file a report and almost a week later they didn’t have the evidence I presented of videos I took risking my life to film. Black crime is so out of control we don’t even realize how bad it is. The govt has begun aiding and abetting criminals to harm and kill citizens.

@only1patriarch Yes, I finally got a call from the detectives and they did not have any of the evidence and it looks like the first report wasn’t even considered a crime or fully documented so that’s why ‘crime is down’.

My name is John. I’m a gay man better known as the drag queen Syntax in Chicago, IL. (Picture of me in drag.) Today (Saturday) in broad daylight 1-2PM, I was aggressively sexually assaulted (attempted r@pe appearing armed) by a black man at the famous Rainbow Lighthouse on Hollywood / Gay Beach, a place that’s been a safe daytime / travel / photo spot for gay men for decades. (The beach where 18 yr old @LoyolaChicago student Sheridan Gordon was shot and killed by an illegal is literally the next stop north and you can see it from the pier.) I was relaxing on my towel like I have every summer for nearly 10 years. After others left, a black man who had apparently been waiting for me to be alone appeared and blocked the only exit to the pier. He was holding his dick in one hand saying “suck muh dick” and he pushed a concealed object at me (a weapon) in the other hand inside his hoodie. I stayed calm, told him “I’m good,” and used a fake work phone call to de-escalate and create distance while I dialed 911. A couple arrived behind him, which briefly made him stop, but he then pulled it out again and started jerking off in front of all of us. They got scared and left. I tried to film discreetly for evidence without escalating him. Between the couple and me filming, he eventually left. Police took over 15 minutes to arrive and anything could’ve happened in that time. I am a large man and he felt comfortable doing this like he does this regularly.
