@mcuban @grok That leaves so much wealth untaxable, forcing the regular people to pay more in taxes for a system that benefits billionaires. Meanwhile the founders live off loans collateralized on their stock.

Hey @grok, of the 10 wealthiest Americans , what percentage of their net worth is from founders stock ? Equity in companies they founded or co-founded ?
Mehdi Hasan@mehdirhasan

Yes @mcuban you’re right that 60% of US adults own stock directly or indirectly but what you omit to mention is that the richest 1% of Americans own nearly 50% of the stock market while the bottom half of Americans own just 1%.

@anymanfitness True. If you need less than 10 min rest between sets, you're lifting like a "beach"

I don’t mean to be rude here but if you’re lifting and all you need is 60 seconds between sets, and you feel rested, you’re lifting like a p*ssy.

@Kristof_Poland @MarioNawfal Dla mnie największym problemem był brak własnego miejsca zamieszkania i brak stabilności jak miałem lat 2x. Dzieci chciałem. Podejrzewam, że wielu ma tak samo.

@MarioNawfal There is unfortunately more to that story – the booming GDP is not really the Polish economy, but foreign companies operating in Poland. Polish people are still quite poor and often can’t afford families… Also the left-wing anti-natalist, anti-family propaganda is everywhere…

🇵🇱 Poland’s fertility rate has fallen to an abysmal 1.07, one of the lowest in the entire world. It’s a bit counterintuitive, as Poland is a socially conservative country with a booming economy. But with economic progress often comes more women in the workforce, and fewer having children. Poland’s rate is even lower than Japan’s (1.2), as well as the UK (1.4), Germany (1.4), and France (1.6). Source: Notes from Poland

@mesut__85 @hicasamadim Yep. Multiply the number on the left to the power of 2 and multiply the number to the right with the result and you will always get the number below. But that doesn’t make us above average. That’s Primary school math.

I have never seen an animal commit suicide. I find it interesting that animals, especially apex predators, don't appear to conceptualize “hopelessness” the way humans do. Even at the brink of death, they fight, bite, claw, and persist without turning their suffering into despair.

Ferrari has just officially unveiled its first ever all-electric car, called the Ferrari Luce. • Starting price: $640,000 • Interior co-designed with Apple's former head of design, Jony Ive • Range: 280 miles (expected EPA) • Peak charging speed: 350kW • 122 kWh battery • 1,050 horsepower • 0-60mph: 2.4s • 800v • Four-door four-seater • Four electric motors • OLED screens • Weight: 4,982 lbs • Front motors spin to 30,000 rpm, rears hit 25,500 rpm • Car uses an accelerometer to capture real vibrations from the electric motors & rear chassis. An algorithm filters out unpleasant frequencies and amplifies only the more “musical” sounds. This can be heard inside and outside the car. • Paddle shifter on steering wheel changes how aggressively torque is delivered, with five different levels • The trunk has 21.1 cubic feet of space, the largest luggage capacity the company has ever offered • 197.6 inches long, about as long as a Tesla Model S U.S. deliveries start in Q2 2027. @BakerBarbell I think missing reps in top sets is great. It's just information. Feedback. Indicator of your current progress. Kind of road map of your training. Everyone misses reps eventually. Might as well think about it as orientation point in your gym journey

Dumb Lifting Mistake #1: Lifter misses heavy deadlift top set during training. Lifter makes multiple attempts to get the weight, resulting in several more misses. Then drops down a small amount of weight and makes another attempt - gets the weight up at an RPE 11 with horrendous form due to the fatigue of all the misses. Fatigue ruins the rest of the workout and bleeds over into subsequent workouts for the next week or so. Dumb Lifting Mistake #2: Lifter misses top set deadlift during training. Has an emotional meltdown, gets discouraged, abandons the rest of the workout and goes home and sulks. Smart Lifter - Realizes that a single missed top set in a single workout is something that may happen from time to time when pushing your limits. He’s pissed - but balances his emotions with reason and saves his energy for the rest of the workout. Channels his frustration into aggressively finishing his volume work, assistance exercises etc so that he still leaves the gym with a great stimulus and no excessive fatigue.

In 2014, Head Strength Coach at South Carolina was leaving our gym. He drove past me & David Hoff then stopped & yelled this question. We were kind of dumbfounded. Last month l finally figured it out. The answer lies not in your emotional impulse blurt. It’s one to think about.

@JBMason @Hybridathlete Eddie Hall and Hafthor doing 2.5x deadlift is baseline strength... IDK how much you weight- if you can rep 405 on bench its impressive I've seen 60kg man benching 180kg and I've seen 150kg man benching 230kg. 230 was much more impressive.

@Hybridathlete numbers have to be based on multiples of bodyweight. IIRC, the baseline targets for "strong" are roughly: Bench: 1.5x BW Squat: 2x Deadline: 2.5X

4 reasons athletes need to max out I prefer it within training and I prefer frequent opportunities to do so with 1,2 and 3 rep maxes plus AMRAP maxes of 70, 75, 80 and 85% depending on time of year. 👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼
