Hairdressers and beauticians trained today at Malone House in Belfast to spot the hidden signs of domestic abuse. Coercive control isn’t always visible — but it’s real. Together with partners, we’re helping communities recognise abuse and respond safely. orlo.uk/Kal0H

'Bridging the Evidence Gap: Exploration of Domestic Abuse and Suicide' Online event, Tuesday 31 March, 2.00-4:30pm eventbrite.co.uk/e/bridging-the… "The Centre for Crime, Law and Society at the University of Bristol welcomes Sarah Dangar, Rhianna Dorrian, Tim Woodhouse, Eleanor Watson and Camille Ilett, who will present their doctoral research on the growing link between domestic abuse and suicide. They will be joined by Fiona Drouet, MBE, and CEO and founder of EmilyTest @Emilytest12, who will speak about the loss of her daughter, Emily Drouet, following her experience of domestic abuse. Patricia Downey, who lost her daughter Michelle to suicide following abuse, will share a poem written by Michelle. The Domestic Homicide Project's annual statistics reveal that the number of deaths from domestic abuse-related suicide outweighs the number of deaths from intimate partner homicide in England and Wales. Despite this, there is no effective or uniform preventative or criminal response to these cases. Join in person and online on Microsoft Teams for a thought-provoking event where experts from various fields come together to tackle the challenges of domestic abuse-related suicide."

Lives will be lost or destroyed. >60% of men who are using our services have been suicidal, a significant number have made suicide attempts in the last two years. We need to completely rethink what we are doing and how we are funding services. We cannot afford to lose more lives
BBC The View@bbctheview

"Lives are going to be lost." David Babington from @amhNI says his organisation supports people who are potentially suicidal with significant mental health issues. His project faces a cliff-edge funding cut from Wednesday. Read more bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

@LisaBritton We really always seek out your posts. Social media is a land of made up sock puppet accounts and trolls. Plus lots of engaged brilliant people. It kind of mirrors the see saw we see on every post
