Wondering how long this will last… (#medlibs if interested- I’m mostly on Discord now with the same name.) Tweets are my own.

I feel this! You were the one who started me on this bird app.🐦You also trained many co-workers at our org about #socialmedia in those earlier years. I’m so saddened by the decline of this app and loss of community. 😭

I've been on Twitter since April 2007, published my first article on it in summer 2007, and was an early adopter of the @medlibs GroupTweet (which transformed into #medlibs). There was something special here that I will miss as the exodus continues.

I am feeling the same way. I dislike this disruption. I have been on this bird app since the start of my medlibs career and like the community here. Plus I really like seeing the various discussions that overlap with our profession: other libs, meded, humanities… ugh

@sithiaditu Yeah I’m not sure yet which way I’ll go when it comes to Twitter. Waiting to see what the vibe turns out to be.

I know #SystematicReview team should include ✔️substantive expert ✔️information specialist/librarian ✔️research methodologist ✔️statistician (meta-analyst if MA) but I don't know what is the recommended number #medlibs👉 What is your opinion, & is there evidence for this?

librarian hack: before you start shifting books, measure how many inches of books are on each shelf, divide by total number of shelves = inches per shelf.

Higher education has become commoditized and no longer holds the weight it once did. The future will demand emotional skills. These will set you apart and give you the level up a degree no provides. Here’s 5 skills to master (🧵):

"What would he WANT?" is NOT the right Q. Instead, we should ask the followings, - "What are you most worried about?" - "What are you hoping for?" - "What is most important to him?" - "Tell me about him." - "What makes his life meaningful?" 6/

To get around this limitation, did they dig through medical records and confirm that 1. the ICD-10 codes were accurate and 2. there wasn't another obvious cause leading to that diagnosis and death (someone who died from bacterial endocarditis, for example)? No, they didn't.

Thank you #AbbottElementary for mentioning that most Philly schools do not have a librarian! Only seven of 214 Philly public schools have a certified school librarian! *also referencing the digital divide.

I was poking around the Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) browser earlier when I noticed they have MeSH 2023 preview up. You know what that means #medlibs: time for a #2023MeSH #MeSHoverhaul thread!
