@miles_commodore I had the an ACL transplant in 1980 my freshman year in H.S. I read "I am Third" Gayle Sayers book, what a great book to motivate young athletes. We need more Gayle Sayers or revisit what kind of man he was. He was a should have been like Bo Jackson.

The 6th best 1970's movie according to me is Brian’s Song. There is no movie I have ever seen that makes me more emotional than this film. It’s fantastic. Brian’s Song runs in at 6.

The Seattle Pilots, 1969. They were an expansion team that played only one season before relocating to become the Milwaukee Brewers in 1970. The franchise was founded due to a rapid expansion spurred by the loss of the Kansas City Athletics.

@nut_history Bears beat Cowboys 44-0 at Texas Stadium in 1985. Ran into Gene Barth at the airport and he said Dallas didn't want to come out for the 2nd half.

@PulpLibrarian Sad ending for the "beer that made Milwaukee famous." Worked there as a tour guide back in college.

@2025DaBears I still remember Brickhouse hosting the 10th inning and reading an ad for some sort of contraption to dispense beer at home with the phrase, "No pumps or paraphernalia".

@TheHuskerDepot I saw them play the Bulls at Chicago Stadium in Nov 1972. All I remember was the PA announcer saying "Archibald!" everytime he scored.

Who else has fond memories of Burny Brothers Bakery like I do? I found this charming Valentine’s Day ad from Jewel Food Stores from fifty years ago in Chicago. I’d love to hear your memories too—please share! Thank you!

@DrinkSolaPop I work at a big box store and I'll ask the kids with their dads if they like shopping with their dad. Sometimes makes me tear up. I would love one more Saturday running errands with my dad. Going to the hardware store and the lumber yard. Somehow never out for lunch though!

My Dad took me EVERYwhere with him when I was a child. To the post office, live poultry market, the gas station, I mean every errand, everywhere. I didn't even care to go on vacation. I just wanted my Dad to take me around the city with him 😭
