@jbulltard1 Elon’s PT Barnum side cooking🗣️, he is brilliant, has balls, has helped to do some incredible things but his PT Barnum financial marketing gimmick is his greatest strength, financial engineering a close 2nd. US pensions will pick up tab for what is in part a #MARKETING SCAM

@TCPeglow ok and I say that all the time, but you know who is worse? Our albatross of a government that can't ever get spending in check. We need less of them, not more

I can't believe im defending Elon, I hate him but I love how a bunch of people who've never created anything(politicians) are mad that elon musk has amassed a fortune while doing the most American thing possible, enriching many other people.

@jbulltard1 Yeah, data centers in space next year… sure. Here US pensions eat that at $2T valuation. Elon Musk has done some brilliant things, he is also half PT Barnum

@TCPeglow companies are based on future potential not current cash flows. Space X is expensive on today's numbers, it may very well be cheap on future numbers. Regardless, he's minted many millionaires, more than any of these politicians have. He's not the bad guy here.

@jbulltard1 Netscape Navigator in the 1990s was the 1st company in history to go public without profits. The hyper globalized economic system where we sit atop playing “financial empire” is wildly unbalanced and economically stupid, unfair, and less productive long term.

@jbulltard1 From a generational perspective I’d say our capital markets are broken valuing a company that loses $5 billion a year with revenues at $18 billion as a $2T company while a bunch of VC funds and insiders will sell to US pensions (index) at insane #, It’s a cheating economic system

@PhilipTKingston Or the city of Dallas just waits until Miriam can buy casino legislation in Texas to put a casino at Valley View—which is hilarious. I can’t think of worse city planning, it’s like hard to figure out how you could do worse.

@PhilipTKingston That building while drawn by world renowned designer—is a piece of crap, they should go lease any of the vacant office downtown. It’s not like theirs anyone in the building anyway.

This is the type of shit that needs no words to troll itself. This is actually real… he’s really posting infomercials plugging this… Using America’s 250th Anniversary too… More like… “As my dad tanks the economy as fast as he can, nothing is more patriotic than getting your hands on some Don Jr Gold to celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary in case it’s our last” This is SNL material or even better #smokefleet material

"The knives are out for Dallas." That's what @DallasMayor told City Council this week, as the Mavericks and Stars finalized plans to flee to the suburbs. And just in case you missed his point, he added: "The wolf is not in this room. The wolf is up the tollway." Up the tollway. Plano. Frisco. That's who @Johnson4Dallas is blaming. Not himself. Not the people in that room. The cities that actually built something worth moving to. When a leader invokes the imagery of knives and wolves, he's not taking responsibility — he's shifting blame. He's telling you that Dallas's collapse is something being done *to* us, not something we're doing *to ourselves*. That is a lie born of cowardice. Now — credit where it's due. Mayor Johnson has worked hard to position Dallas as a financial powerhouse. The Texas Stock Exchange is launching here. NYSE Texas landed here. Nasdaq Texas is coming here. Goldman Sachs is building an 800,000-square-foot campus in Dallas. Scotiabank is establishing its regional headquarters here. These are real wins, and he deserves real credit for them. But here's the problem, Mayor Johnson: you can't recruit Goldman Sachs with one hand while your colleagues run AT&T out of town with the other. Because AT&T didn't leave quietly. CEO John Stankey didn't cite Plano's nicer campus or Frisco's prettier skyline. In private emails to City Manager Kim Tolbert — emails obtained through a public records request — Stankey was explicit. He told her his concerns extended beyond the immediate issues and went to the "ongoing and cyclical nature of our challenges with effective/sustained governance of the City" and their relationship to "delivering a healthy business environment." Crime. Homelessness. Governance failures. That's what AT&T's CEO put in writing, months before they announced they were leaving. The wolves didn't take AT&T. City Hall failed AT&T. And the blame for that doesn't fall on Plano. It falls on your colleagues. Eric Johnson has prided himself on being an avid sports fan, and his administration has defined itself in part around keeping and attracting major league franchises. So Mayor Johnson, here's an analogy you'll understand: What you're describing is a basketball team with the worst record in the league — standing in the locker room after the season, pointing at other teams and complaining that they have nicer arenas, better players, and unfair advantages. But in the real world, a coach who blames everyone else for a last-place finish doesn't get a contract extension. He gets fired. And now you stand before the council and lecture them. Condescending. Petulant. Derisive. An empty suit talking down to everyone in the room — and by extension, every Dallas resident — as if the fault lies anywhere but in the mirror. This is childish behavior. It is not becoming of an effective leader. And Dallas residents are tired of it. Dallas doesn't need lectures. It needs leaders who will look at the wreckage, own it, and make the hard decisions necessary to rebuild. Until we have leaders willing to be introspective instead of accusatory — willing to acknowledge bad decisions, take responsibility, and govern with the residents' interests in mind — we will continue on a downward spiral. Businesses will keep leaving. Residents will keep leaving. And our city will keep hollowing out. The knives aren't coming from Plano, Mayor Johnson. They're being wielded right there in City Hall — held by Dallas city leaders, pointed at each other, as they fight for their own interests instead of the residents they were elected to serve.

@Tom___Callahan_ @caraathome @peet2 I hope it’s not the arrogance, I just don’t think city staff or city council have many highly competent people when it comes to planning/running a high functioning city, thinking about tax bases, property tax, development realities, urban cores / business centers etc.

@caraathome @TCPeglow @peet2 You’re soulless if you think this is about a stadium. It’s about REAL quality of life issues impacting ALL residents of Dallas’ urban core. Your arrogance is proving that you’re part of the problem and taking up space where a more effective leader should be.

@CRELeasingLawTX Good luck with that, I believe the retail at Victory Park has gone through 2 different BK’s—that was retail built next to the urban core… Given today’s construction costs and lack of pop. density / office (and access) broadly around Valley View that is an uphill battle imo.

@TCPeglow Or it’s an opportunity to build something like The Star (which is actually very cool) and redevelop an area of Dallas that has sat vacant for a decade.

The whining from some Dallas people on the Mavs opting to stay in Dallas proper (albeit north) while also not tearing down ~the IM Pei masterpiece~ is soooo annoying! They’re leaving the AAC in 2031 whether you like it or not. They could have chosen Arlington or Irving and instead they’re trying to stay in the city limits! Shut upppp 😆 Nothing would make most of the people complaining happy!

Disagree. I would pair Marco as President candidate with a much taller VP. If you pair Marco and Vance, the optics are very bad . They would be devastated by the pairing of Newsom and Pritzker of Illinois. We need a truth teller president . So tired of corruption now .

@CRELeasingLawTX It’s a dumb option IMO, what 104 acres is though is an option for Adelson’s to hopefully put a casino on it (lol) if they can get Texas legislation passed at some point in future (optionality). hilarious. See you at Chucky Cheese in North Dallas after Mavs games. Sweet. 😎
