Suicide has touched my life from the very beginning. I was just two months old when my mother, Sharon, took her life. I attempted suicide at 18. And again at 26. I haven’t always talked about it — not because I’m ashamed, but because people joke about things on the internet for a giggle and it’s your life. And some pain is too deep to make room for that kind of ignorance. But today, I’m telling the truth out loud: your life is worth living. Even in your lowest moment, you’re not alone. You’re not the only one who’s ever felt like this. And you don’t have to stay in that place. Talk to somebody. You still have purpose. You still have time. You are needed in this world.
