Once in awhile, there are kids, typically pitchers, good enough that make the amateur draft and sign with a team and miss out on the tail end of the season or state tournament to go play pro ball. Games played mid May to 2nd week in July.

The retired teacher behind the counter at our local health food store told me his pension clears $5K/month after taxes. Don't know why he felt it necessary to share that info, but public school teachers are doing better than we've been led to believe.

Devastating loss for the Cyclones, but it sadly would be hard to make an argument she should stay. The program felt like it was at a turning point a few years ago, and it missed the turn. Really hope it can find itself again, and I think that will involve some tough decisions.

Iowa State is so much more dangerous on offense when it keeps Buchanan down low in the dunker spot and Jefferson at the top of the key facilitating the pick and roll instead of just running tons of handoff actions around Buchanan beyond the three-point line.

Not enough good teachers talk about how demoralizing it is that the awful teacher in the room next door makes the same salary (or more) because teachers are rewarded for seniority (and useless degrees) rather than success.

@MurphyKeith @swallen44 I was at that game ISU shot way better obviously. When you’re 1-14 shooting three-pointers, you’re not beating anybody. ASU defensive plan was good and worked b/c we couldn’t hit an outside shot. Not real surprising when you don’t play great defense or take care of the ball.

@iowastate2bigt1 The second half of the season they don’t need more hard-core practice. More on the mental side of things than anything. They know how to play and driving them into the ground at practice doesn’t translate over on the court at this point.

My fellow Cyclones : I've said it enough. TJ goes too hard+ too early+ too often to keep March dreams alive. He must go talk with Coach Cignetti (who famously practices 90 MINS/PRACTICE... FOR CFB!) & learn how to PRIORITIZE GAMES and achievements there in place of practice

@CoachTParr Don’t you always just play the guys that are the best players regardless of how many sports they play or grade level? All things equal sure give the nod to the kid that spent more time focusing on that sport but otherwise you play the best players to win.
