Disciplined diet, no doubt 👏 but calling it “zero sugar” is a bit misleading ...there’s still natural sugar in foods like avocado and vegetables. Cristiano Ronaldo’s real secret isn’t just cutting things out… it’s consistency, balance, and elite-level discipline over years. That’s what actually separates him 🔥

🚨 𝗡𝗘𝗪: Giorgio Barone (Cristiano's former private chef) has shared Cristiano Ronaldo's diet in a recent interview! • There is zero milk and zero sugar allowed in his diet, absolutely zero sugar. • In the morning he eats avocado with coffee and eggs. • The lunch exists of vegetables, chicken and fish. • There is NO flour allowed in his diet: no pasta, no bread. • At night he eats a light meal: usually it's fish or meat in the form of filet, with vegetables.

@YankeeGunner How different is digital noise and "real" noise though? A lot of people lean on X to give them an opinion on how player x played, even if they've just been watching the game with their own eyes. And we know by now that Sky Sports et al do the same thing to dictate their coverage

I don't know what should happen if we don't win the league. It'll clearly be a time for discussing change. What I can't tell is how much demand for change is "digital noise" and how much is real. But it "feels" real right now, and if we do blow it, then maybe there's no way back

@DougieCritchley @HarrySymeou No Raya, Timber, Cala/Hincapie (take your pick), Rice, Zubi, Gyokeres, Saka or Trossard/Eze (take your pick). So at least 8 players not starting last night. That's a second string team?

@HarrySymeou Should have added “The” at the very top of the tweet, of course not all are saying that. But I’ve had multiple replies saying it was a 2nd string or worse line-up, which I don’t think is accurate! Your squad is being tested, but it’s definitely one of the deepest in Europe.

Arsenal fans trying to make out it was some completely experimental, rogue line-up is hilarious… It included the club captain, Gabriel, 3 other players that cost at least £45m and one of the best wonderkids ever produced from their academy. Not to mention Lewis-Skelly, Martinelli and Mosquera. Defeats happen, just take it on the chin. Still a lot to play for this season, and you’re in a fantastic position in the league!

@AfcGmen @CDEccleshare @Carra23 IMO the mainstream media were excited to have a new challenger to write about to break the United Arsenal duopoly that was nearing a decade by that point. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but it's clear their method was going to be a net negative, and that's come to pass

@CDEccleshare @Carra23 I think @Carra23’s point is why didn’t/don’t people mind Chelsea in the same way you say about City. For me the answer to that is two-fold: i) they don’t care that much in principle for the same reason - they bought the success so it’s quite easy to dismiss (identical to city;

It’s not bizarre at all, you say ‘rooting’ for City which I totally understand they don’t provoke the same feelings as others, but people aren’t rooting for City, they WANT them to beat Arsenal! That’s the difference. The column looks at why. Thanks for bringing more traffic👍
Charlie Eccleshare@CDEccleshare

For someone who seems generally to have his finger on the pulse of fan sentiment, this is a bizarre take from Carragher. Neutrals have been rooting for City over teams they care about for basically the last decade. telegraph.co.uk/football/2026/…

Carragher has built himself a bully pulpit for idiots. He reaches the lowest common denominator of football fans, pandering to fools, and driving intelligent, thoughtful fans straight to the independent platforms where quality analysis and genuine community exists. I owe him a huge debt of gratitude.

I'd say he would be very well placed to answer the question "what does it take to win the league" Some of the best pundits on TV are the ones that never won the league

🎙Jamie Carragher on choosing between Raya and Donnarumma....... 🗣 "A goalkeeper, in terms of winning the title, is almost the most important thing,” the former Liverpool defender said on Sky Sports. "I don't think you can win the title without a top goalkeeper, but you can win the title without a top-quality player in every other position "In this title run-in, I would take Donnarumma. "Just because of him being there in the pressure moments. The level he's played at before. Raya hasn't got those honours just yet. "I love Raya, I think he's absolutely fantastic. But for the average football fan, when you think of a goalkeeper making saves to win the league, everyone will just look at that.”

@timstillman_ But I also do think that whatever lineup Chelsea came with today, Arteta's gameplan was going to be sit in and try to disrupt Chelsea. Don't think the referee being so fussy about everything - on both sides - also facilitated a good game.

Chelsea were a goal down and still came with a back five and barely had a shot. If you want Arsenal games to be more entertaining focus on the teams who play them and decide not to play.

@DougieCritchley @AtTheBridgePod I agree that the new format is better. Usually City would be up against 3 jobbers & coast through, but, if they happened to lose GW1 we all knew they'd still go through so it didn't matter. The jeopardy is better now. Although, did it ever need to be extended to 8 games per side?

I think, like with a lot of things in football... the standard of play in the 2000s and life pre-VAR... there is a lot of misplaced nostalgia. I know a lot of people disagree, but I don't think that's clearer than with the old Champions League format. Yes, I am fundamentally against footballers playing EVEN more football... but when have the governing bodies ever cared about that?! But this group stage format... although a slog, is considerably more entertaining (which is ultimately what they care about) Yes, there is a questionable amount of jeopardy for a few poor results... But in the old format, 3 wins first up and you were effectively through, leaving 3 virtual dead rubbers... In this format... we go into tonight with 3 points between 3rd placed Real Madrid and 15th placed Juventus. There are 3 points between 17th placed Galatasaray and 27th placed Club Brugge. Let's see, but the possibility for serious drama is high!

@JimmyOHare16 @OliverKay I agree... One positive I see is that the league can't be bought as easily - gone are the days of an Abramovich arriving and firing £50 notes at the top teams. PSR is a factor ofc but it's coupled with there being such a short supply of game (and club) changing individuals

@YankeeGunner They need to stop overplaying the better players and get better at resting them. Gabriel played 90 minutes against Prague and has played 20 minutes in the last two league cup games. The drop off to mosquera/hincanpe isn't so huge that you can't start them in certain games.

Squad depth's important of course. But when you play without cornerstone players for long enough, some points get dropped here & there. Gabby's too important at both ends to feel confident we can just "manage" without him for a couple months. Not "doomy" to recognize it's a blow

@AFC_T91 @GunnerEc @Jaksthevibe @Arsenalnewschan We should be asking "how good are Liverpool right now?" The way things are panning out, losing to Liverpool away was a worse result than drawing this weekend at Bmouth + our set pieces are being spoken about so much that our injury crisis is massively going under the radar

@GunnerEc @Jaksthevibe @Arsenalnewschan We play multiple times a week and our squad is thinner than we’d like, fatigue near the end of games is obviously going to be a factor, with less injuries it’s something that can be managed much more easily.

🗣️Jamie Carragher: “I think Arsenal will be nervous in the title race because it’s Man City and they’ve done this to them twice before. Twice in last three years they’ve come from behind and caught Arsenal. “The manner of the City victory today, that first-half performance as well… Liverpool are the champions but City took them to the cleaners. I think on the back of Arsenal dropping points against a promoted team, they would have been hoping for a draw between City and Liverpool. “But they saw City not only win – but win well – and they might be getting a few flashbacks to the last couple of times they had a chance at a title. It might be a long two weeks… I still think Arsenal are the best team I’ve seen in the Premier League this season, no doubt. But it’s been so long since they won the title so everyone will become twitchy during the run-in.”

The Saturday 3pm blackout is maybe the only thing left that English football does that benefits the entire pyramid instead of a small, already very heavily rewarded part of it. If you know how lower / non league football works in England you know exactly why it works and why its removal would threaten the survival of scores of clubs immediately. Power to the 3pm blackout, may it continue ✊

An exemption has been granted to lift the 3pm UK broadcast blackout of Premier League games on two Saturdays over this year’s festive period: December 27 and January 3. @clivepafc I don't judge that as a head clash. Pedro was technically in possession of the ball, Saliba challenged and missed and therefore it's a foul. It's not like a long ball where no player has possession of the ball when going up for a header, I feel.
