If people cared about what affects them and were not reacting based on anxiety. they would care about systems,structural stagnation, infrastructure failure, failure of public service, lose borders that allow immigrants to come in, week government oversight.

He's definitely lying. China did not open up their markets, the state had a firm control on how and which industry are accessible to who and when. The state deliberately protected and monopolized certain markets and infant industries. SA is a classic example of how not to open up

White women have been calling Black women "Shenaenae", "La'Quisha", and "ShaNiqua" in a demeaning manner since the 80's. Latinas were called "Consuela", "Guadalupe", or "Maria" and Asian women were called "Ling-Ling", but the moment ‘Karen’ became a meme criticizing entitled behavior, suddenly people wanted to talk about respect and stereotyping.
