Imagine if the #1 women’s tennis player, Aryna Sabalenka, held a segregated dinner party for only white players with John McEnroe in attendance. She would be forced to apologize, Tennis Channel & ESPN would make statements/condemn it, & McEnroe would be suspended or fired. So why is a segregated blacks-only dinner party hosted by Naomi Osaka, with Chris Eubanks in attendance ok? You can’t have it both ways... PS: There has never been a whites-only party hosted by a white player in professional tennis as Osaka claims. She’ll never be able to provide proof.

Re the minimum wage argument: FDR specifically meant *living* wage in contrast to *starving* wage, so subsistence level. He did not mean a wage that would allow ppl to sustain themselves in whatever lifestyle they prefer, in perpetuity. Also, often conveniently left out of the argument are the MYRIAD govt assistance programs (SNAP etc) now available which weren't around then.

Watching all of Sheinbaum’s rapid fire accomplishments in Mexico and Mamdani’s similar run in NYC makes me think that, despite all of his flaws, a Bernie Sanders presidency would have been deeply transformative for America.

I've been noodling over this sudden irrational anger being directed at boomers and gen-Xers by younger generations over the costs of living. One of the things that has struck me is their belief that minimum wage jobs should provide you with anything and everything your heart desires up to and including purchasing a home. Nobody and I do mean NOBODY I knew growing up looked at minimum wage work as anything other than an after-school job or a steppingstone to an ultimately higher earning job. Left-wing politicians and idealogues have pushed this narrative that everybody "deserves a living wage" right out of high school when historically that has never been the case. It's taken root with younger generations unfortunately and I personally think that's where much of this misplaced angst against the older generations is coming from.

What's not normal is the pathological obsession with all things Trump. It started before he even announced and only gotten worse.
