In July 2025, the High Court in Upington convicted three individuals: - Tumelo Mavlenter Sotho (mastermind, worked in the complex and gained her trust) - Nkosinathi Ntombela - Martatjie Engelbrecht (accessory after the fact) They were found guilty of robbery with aggravating circumstances and murder (Sotho and Ntombela directly; Engelbrecht as accessory). This horrific attack on a vulnerable elderly White woman highlights the ongoing plague of brutal violence, even in "secure" areas.
