#Dosso #Niger 3 days workshop. The @WHO REPREP (Response Preparedness) programme, in collaboration with @FAO & @WOAH, is an initiative designed to help countries strengthen their preparedness for zoonoses. It structures a multisectoral response (human health, animal health, environmental) before crises occur, through joint operational plans & exercises. The key point of the REPREP #OneHealth programme is to create a national multisectoral response framework to better manage outbreaks of zoonotic diseases. During the workshop, participants will agree on a process for finalizing & operationalizing the joint framework. This process will be implemented in the post-workshop phase. #Ouagadougou #BurkinaFaso🇧🇫. Graduation of the 3rd cohort of experts who took part in the practical phase of the Inter-University Diploma (IUD) in Viral Hemorrhagic Fevers (VHF) from November 17-30. About 45 professionals from 10 African countries attended. The IUD is organized in two parts. 6 months for online thorical modules training & 2 weeks of intense simulation covering the various domains of emergencies (surveillance, patient care, laboratory, Risk communication & community engagement, contact tracing, Infection Prevention & Control,...). An opportunity to practice & develop skills. At the end of the practical phase, trainees in groups are invited to develop a preparepdness & response plan. The 4th cohort of the VHF IUD is already launched. The course will start in February 2026. This VHF IUD is a partnership between #JosphKiZerboUniversity #UniversiteSorboneParisNord & number of French speaking Universities providing experienced trainers. #Accra #Ghana is hosting ECOWAS Regional Technical One Health Meeting from November 10-13, 2025. The #OneHealth practitioner presenting the @FAO @UNEP @WHOAFRO @WOAH Quadripartite’s progress to advancing One Health Surveillance Systems during the ongoing ECOWAS Regional Technical One Health Meeting. @TTSTOP’s presentation highlighted the importance of operationalizing #OneHealth approach to empower communities to build & sustain the adaptive capacity to evaluate, mitigate and respond to health and well-being threats. Advancing Integrated #OneHealth Surveillance Systems in the ECOWAS Region objective = “A World better able to prevent, predict, detect, and respond to health threats and improve the health of humans, animals, plants, and the environment while contributing to sustainable development”.

This requires leveraging our expertise & pooling our efforts". The opportunity will be provided during the four days of work, to exchange francs & conduct a rigorous analysis. The main expected result from this NBW is a roadmap to implement this necessary collaboration. Based on a scenario, each group must evaluate inter-sectoral collaboration and associate one of the 3 colors to materialize it. #IHR competencies (coordination, RCCE, Media communication, Collaboration...) are analyzed during this exercise. #Gitega, August 4-9. @WHOAFRO, @FAO & @WOAH are supporting #Burundi to implement and strengthen the multisectoral @OneHealth collaboration. Over 80 national experts from the central level including representatives from the office of the President, regional and sub-regional level from human health, animal health, environmental health sectors gathered to identify critical activities to improve the implementation of #OneHealth in order to strengthen health security and pandemic preparedness. EMP expert @TTSTOP (Pic1) is explaining how to identify and map the gaps in collaboration using the matrix composed of key technical areas of the @WHO International Health Regulation #IHR & the critical competencies @WOAH Performance of Veterinary Services (PVS) Pathway. Over 200 participants attended the 2-day meeting including delegates from the MoH, @WHOAFRO 25 countries of West & Central Africa, as well as other institutions which support emergency preparedness & response namely @AfricaCDC @OoasWaho @ONUmigration & Resolve To Save Lives (RTSL). @Prof_TBalde, #DakarHub Coordinator & Dr Dick Chamla, the Program Area Manager of EMP AFRO made the opening remarks of the meeting. They emphasized how investing in health emergency preparedness is key to mitigating the health and socio-economic impacts of diseases outbreaks and other health emergencies. The meeting concluded with the development of countries’ roadmap to strengthen health emergency preparedness for the remainder of 2025 & 2026. The main objectives of the meeting were : To assess the level of health emergency preparedness in West and Central Africa countries in order to identify strengths, weaknesses and needs for improvement ; To develop countries’ roadmap to strengthen health emergency preparedness based on the needs identified;To strengthen collaboration & information sharing between countries & the EMP team of #DakarHub. #ProudToBeWHO.
