@UCBarstool @Justin51241542 Can you please share the link where Cincinnati has gone on the record about what happened, what they know and when they knew it?

Be careful Indiana, they will come after you once it is proven Cincinnati complied with the NCAA. Sorsby and his agent are desperate for anything.

@DavidPurdum Cincinnati has admitted this? I have not seen or heard one single clarification about what happened from that school. Where is this press release at so I can read it?

Cincinnati's knowledge of Brendan Sorsby's gambling stems from an alert the school received in Aug. 2024, showing Sorsby attempted to access fantasy site PrizePicks, according to court documents. The school questioned Sorsby after the alert and was told that he was denied access to PrizePicks and had not placed any wagers. UC says it did not receive any additional alerts related to Sorsby during his two seasons.

@NotaBurnerr007 Ok, but does this not at least kind of make you feel silly for leaving? I mean had you stayed Tech would have been the only thing standing between UT and a guaranteed spot in the playoffs every single year.

@TTUjeff No idea what that has to do with my tweet. But if deflection and whataboutism help you cope, lean in, champ.

@dannykanell If NCAA knew about the issue before he transferred to tech then yes Tech absolutely is a victim. In that scenario there was absolutely a duty to inform.

@RealOrdCatholic @ByuSome Yet you are suggesting that Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints failing to live up to LDS teachings somehow changes LDS teachings?

@TTUjeff @ByuSome Catholics failing to live Catholic teaching doesn’t change Catholic teaching. I’ve never claimed Catholics are sinless. I also reject the idea that morality is whatever consenting adults decide it is. That’s not Christianity. That’s self-centered morality dressed up as theology

@RealOrdCatholic @ByuSome Lol might have something to do with the fact that only 20-30% of Catholics are actually practicing Catholicism. Pretty big loop hole to do whatever you want if you ask me.

@ByuSome The difference is Catholics don’t invent loopholes to justify behavior while pretending to follow Christ. The Church’s teaching is straightforward, public & consistent…not a “gotcha”: The marital act belongs within marriage & should remain ordered toward both unity & life.

@Eric_Gonzalez__ @redzone_cfb @RamblinRaiders Let’s assume you’re right and Cincinnati didn’t know (which I don’t believe). When in the history of ever has “I didn’t know I was committing a crime” held water for a defendant in a court of law and why should it hold water for a university whose responsibility it was to know?

Last Thing I’ll say about the Brendan Sorsby Situation until we get concrete updates: Cincinnati also plays a significant role in this entire situation as well… it’s not just Texas Tech They knew about the Gambling Problem that Sorsby and instead of doing what’s best for him and the game? They kept it under wraps. Scott Satterfield chose his own job security over what’s best for Brandon Sorsby/what’s best for the integrity of the sport.

@NicoleAuerbach So your supposition is that he will throw games and kill his stats to win nominally small wagers all at the direct expense of his NFL career?

Say Brendan Sorsby throws two picks in the first half of a game — you’ll have people wondering if he had money on the Tech under. Every play will be scrutinized and questioned.

🎧 NEW Rushing The Field 🎧 Brendan Sorsby is eligible to play CFB this fall — after betting on his own team. Coaches and ADs are furious about it. @mrjoshuaperry and I are, too. What the Big 12/CFP/others can do about it and why this matters so much: open.spotify.com/episode/0byeJU…

The playoff committee is about to evaluate Tech with entirely different grade book. Might see the first 12-0 team get the #12 seed from a power conference.

@JustinbFrommer I don't understand how Tech is essentially walking through this with no backlash. I wonder with a ruling if that will change?

@SignGuy137 @On3 @RossDellenger A lot of great college quarterbacks have not thrived in the NFL. Base NFL salary is $885,000 plus signing bonus maybe 1.5 million. He has a 5 mill contract right now and there has already been several NFL teams indicate they are going to pass on him due to all the baggage.

@Doc_Texas The second sorsby plays a snap, the NCAA should make Texas Tech postseason ineligible. It’s the only way a point can’t be made to not go around the NCAA.

Texas Tech is about to try and win a bunch of games with a player the NCAA has ruled ineligible. Against a pathetic schedule they probably will get some wins and then have to vacate them when it goes to trial and the player loses after the season... congratulations

@On3 @RossDellenger Honestly if Sorsby did the right thing: step down & accept the ncaa ruling, his draft status would go through the roof showing he can follow the rules & be a contribution 2 an NFL team! But this would be asking him 2 actually take accountability 4 his actions. Highly unlikely.
