@JohnCornyn @DairyQueen “Whilst traversing the Texian territories, I paused in Sealy to sample the peasant confection known as ‘the Blizzard.’ Adequate. Though I must confess, the miniature cream cone was so small, it was scarcely worth summoning a servant to carry it.”

Stopped by @DairyQueen in Sealy, Texas, otherwise known as the “Texas stop sign,” to sample some of their delicious fare. I highly recommend the Blizzard. (I had that after I ate this child-size cone)

Fellow Texans - I hope you will go vote for U.S. Senator @JohnCornyn in the Republican U.S. Senate primary runoff. Early voting is open 7am-7am Monday-Friday this week (May 18-22) and Election Day is Tuesday, May 26. I have known John Cornyn personally since 2009 and I have proudly worked on his Senate re-election campaign since March 2025. He is a man of integrity, a devoted father and husband, who works hard, tries to solve problems, and is conservative. His opponent @KenPaxtonTX is none of these things. We are better than Ken Paxton. @liberty4tehwin @DBCooperTX It’s a good question. I wouldn’t give it too much weight. He will rarely go to court if elected. It’s a leadership position and Mayes as a great track record of building a competent team paired with good policy.

@TXGunLaw @DBCooperTX As an attorney, what's your take on the attack that Mayes is only technically a lawyer but hasn't handled cases in court?

Not one Texan has given me a persuasive argument to vote for Mays Middleton over Chip Roy. I’m still open but need a reason other than Roy turned on Trump.

@atensnut It’s illegal to pull a gun on someone unless you’re going to shoot. He just committed a felony. He should have just told him he had a gun and wasn’t afraid to shoot.

White skin gives me and every white American immunity from the virus. But we spread it wherever we go—through our words, our actions, and our systems. We don’t have to be showing symptoms—like a white hood or a Confederate flag—to be contagious.

#AhmaudArbery is the latest American killed by the virus of racism. The virus kills our black neighbors if they’re jogging, playing music, sitting in church, selling CDs, or carrying a bag of Skittles...

Several folks have asked who I’m supporting in the upcoming Galveston County Republican Primary. I took some personal time to research the candidates and put together a list of my preferred choices. Good luck to all the candidates, and thank you for your service to Texas! Personal political opinions only. No political contributions were accepted or expended in connection with this post. Early voting begins today in Texas. If gun owners voted as a block, we would determine the outcome of every election. YOU have the power, but must act to use it. While you’re at the polls consider voting for our friend and patriot @TheAKGuy

@honestpollster It’s “captivity” theory, with everyone living under the digital microscope. Too much risk to do anything; god forbid it’s not 100% correct.

@kangminlee Great victory! When y’all rewrite the constitution, maybe a little “個人の武器を保持し及び携帯する権利は、これを侵害してはならない.”

@plesafortexas I’m sure someone at the caucus worked really hard on this; images, talking points, etc. Don’t fire them. Keep it up. More. Bless y’all’s hearts.

In late 2025, Texas invested approximately $5 million in Bitcoin as part of a state-level reserve strategy. The purchase was made near a market high, when Bitcoin was trading at roughly $87,000 per coin. As of today, Bitcoin is trading around $65,000 per coin. Based on that price movement, Texas’ investment is currently valued at about $3.8 million, meaning it is down roughly $1.2 million, or about 24%, compared to the original purchase amount. What this means for Texans • The investment is currently underwater, meaning its market value is below what Texas paid. • Future value depends entirely on Bitcoin’s market performance, which is historically volatile and unpredictable. Why this matters This investment exposes public funds to a highly volatile asset class. While prices can rise quickly, they can also fall just as fast. Tracking the value over time is important for transparency, fiscal oversight, and understanding risk to taxpayers. What $1.2 Million Could Fund Instead: •Salaries and benefits for 15–18 starting teachers for a full year •10–12 entry-level firefighters or paramedics for one year •Mobile health clinics serving rural or underserved communities •Transit service operations that keep workers connected to jobs •Direct property tax relief for hundreds of homeowners. Public dollars are finite. When funds are exposed to high-volatility assets, short-term losses represent foregone opportunities to invest in services Texans rely on every day. Even unrealized losses carry real tradeoffs. Bottom line A $1.2 million swing in value is not abstract. It is roughly the cost of teachers, emergency services, infrastructure repairs, or direct relief that could otherwise be delivering measurable public benefit right now. I will continue providing regular updates so Texans can clearly see whether this investment is up or down and by how much.
