Anybody who would allow the Washington Post to get rid of its sports section shouldn’t have anything to do with running the paper. Thinking about all the talented and hard-working folks over there. I’ll spare you my history as an avid reader and my obsession with the Sports section growing up. I’ll also save my rant on what an abomination it appears the Bezos ownership has been thus far, as a bystander without internal knowledge. But simply — we are talking about Washington, DC and we are talking about one of the country’s most important newspapers. There’s no debate on the necessity for a sports section. #SaveThePost

This is a big win for the entire National Women’s Soccer League! Trinity’s resigning was announced at a live press conference today in BMO Stadium. Michele and the Spirit leadership spoke about the vision for the franchise, creating sustainable success, implementing innovation and being a standard bearer for women’s sports. Keeping Trinity as a Spirit player was a big step to fulfilling that vision. I want to congratulate the entire Spirit organization for getting the deal done!
