This summer, I have noticed the dugouts have been left in really bad shape after games. Seems like less and less people running travel teams are telling their players to leave it better than you found it! Sad

@TaceyCoach @CoachSwit NFHS needs to update their balk rules to be consistent with NCAA and MLB. Figuring out what's a balk is hard enough, no need for different rules in HS vs. college.

I have noticed at the 14u travel level this summer, base running, bunting, bunt coverage & pick off plays are almost non existent from teams we have played. We try and work on this as much as we can pre game and in games.

@CoachSwit There’s far too many “coaches” out there that have no clue what they’re doing and have no business being on the playing side of the fence.

Travel Baseball the chirping is terrible. You have coaches that actually played the game just letting players make personal attacks on players. Umpire warns the coach & the coach then starts yelling now we get louder!

@CoachSwit Facts. It doesn’t happen often (more now than in the past) but there has been two instances in my coaching career that I’ve directed my players not to shake hands. Mainly because there was a significant chance that things would escalate beyond what they already had.

Both Teams are yelling and screaming all game and talking negative about sisters and mothers and yes I have heard it before. And then you’re supposed to shake hands at the end of the game to show good sportsmanship, that is laughable to me.

@CoachSwit I bat every kid that shows up, including 18u. My job is to teach the game, not win plastic trophies. I coach HS ball so I treat the summer circuit as our developmental league.

Ok question of the day. What age do you stop batting 11 or 12 batters in travel baseball?

@StanceDoctor I don’t know about you or any other coach that may have coached you but what coaches mean when they say don’t drop your hands is when they’re doing it post load as part of their swing… it’s bat drag we don’t want, not this. This is just a part of a load

@CoachSwit As someone that hosts these tournaments, we’ve tried to start later in the day but then teams complain if they don’t get 3 guaranteed games in pool play. I agree that 8am games suck but in order to alleviate that we need teams to be more realistic with how many games we can fit

I wonder what person came up with the idea of an 8AM Baseball Game? Whoever it was could not have been a baseball player!
