A cool new open-source project coming out my team at AWS, github.com/aws/glide-for-…. It's a new Redis client that decouples the problem into a core high performance rust driver that connects to the servers that interacts with per-language (Python and Node today) client wrappers.

No surprise, but once again #P99CONF from the #ScyllaDB crew is showing everyone how to do it: this is THE model for what a virtual conference should be! (Importantly: FREE!) Day 1 was terrific; looking forward to kicking off Day 2! twitter.com/P99CONF/status…

How have corporate anti-patterns around #opensource changed in the last decade? At our free and virtual #P99CONF, @oxidecomputer's @bcantrill will discuss the changes he's seen over the last 10 years, as well as provide guidance for corporations on what NOT to do. In May 2021 we had a go/no-go deadline. We set a 10 approved speakers bar for the first P99 conference. That was exactly the number of registered speakers at the time. The 3rd p99conf is about to begin with these talks and an audience of 16,000 developers
ScyllaDB@ScyllaDB

With 50+ talks, our free & virtual @P99CONF has training sessions & discussions you can't find anywhere else. Here is a sneak peek at keynotes from @gwenshap, @bcantrill, Jon Haddad, @DorLaor, & @paulmckrcu. ow.ly/l9Ba50PL4X0 #ScyllaDB #P99CONF #Rustlang

Another Interceptor Tender offload in Kingston, Jamaica, adding to the thousands of kilos of trash removed so far! We're up to five Interceptors across the city - and we're not done yet. Stay tuned for more deployments soon as we continue working to transform Kingston Harbour.

I'm optimistic about the potential for AI assistants to help developers quickly ramp up and be productive in safer/stricter programming languages. I'm actually looking forward to learning Rust now :)
Joe Magerramov@_joemag_

I agree with Ben. Having been in this industry for a while, the speed at which engineers spit out code is rarely the bottleneck. I’m much more excited about what AI can do to help improve quality and correctness of the code, as well as help explore new ideas and approaches.

I'm hiring for my first ever team. My first job description is for Cloud Performance and eBPF engineers! (many locations, I don't know why it defaults to saying Arizona): jobs.intel.com/en/job/arizona…

Moving to io_uring for storage is usually pretty trivial, while idiomatic network conversions are harder with moving from a readiness to completion based model. We'll soon have a doc detailing best practices for networking and io_uring, including all the recent kernel additions.

ENA Express is easily my favorite launch of this re:Invent, and we’ve been eagerly waiting having customers try it out. It is also worth a short thread. 1/ aws.amazon.com/blogs/aws/new-…
