To say Calla Walsh “didn’t learn” Marxism is not correct. Calla is a Marxist and did study Marxism after becoming truly disillusioned (not just “frustrated”) with progressive Democratic politics. She tried to be an orthodox Marxist-Leninist in the CPUSA, becoming a diligent organizer, but she was chased and harassed out of that party. What actually happened is she found “organized Marxism” in the United States completely lacking to say the least, which is totally true, and decided to spend her time in another way, which is fair and even noble considering the risks involved.

@israeliens1 People like Calla Walsh or Tucker Carlson will do what they want to do and there’s nothing we can do about that besides mostly engaging in dialogue with the audiences they capture. Regardless this is out of scope for the original topic at hand.

@Talonsight x.com/CallaWalsh/sta… I understand Calla may not be aware of the extent to which she has 'influence' in online circles for her 'views' etc, but if her anti-Zionism isn't in line with or directed at winning the American working masses to Communist Party what is it for exactly?
Calla@CallaWalsh

Too many communists in the US arrogantly erase the fact anarchists make up a disproportionate number of political prisoners, make huge contributions to the struggle, and are arguably much more tactically advanced and militant than communists in the US context. Speaking as a communist who has strong disagreements with anarchism.

@Talonsight becoming frustrated with liberalism & blaming that on 'settlers' who she feels need to be firebombed isn't a sign she learned Marxism though. I can forgive Calla that was 'disillusioned' or whatever, but not that she embraced anarchism

At Scarface’s climax, hardened anticommunist lumpen criminal Tony Montana is stunned, at the top of the international illegal cocaine game, to find himself in the company of exiled Nazis and US and Bolivian business and political elites at Sosa’s latifundia in Cochabamba. “Anticommunism” is shown to be nothing more than the self-preservation mechanism of organized crime. Communism is, therefore, the cure to organized crime. Tony Montana: “You know what capitalism is? Getting fucked.”
Write Brain TV@WriteBrainTV

Scarface is the most blatant anti capitalist fable of any mainstream studio film of all time - we will die on this hill - the hints all over it. Misunderstood by 90% of the ppl proudly displaying posters of it on their wall. From rappers to frat bros, to Miami Gusanos - we will debate it to the death with anti communist fans of the it & movie nerds that deny anytime. There may never be a more pro communist / anti capitalist epic to ever be produced by a major studio. Even the director & MCA didn’t realize it - but the hints are literally laced by Oliver Stone all over the script … he did the best he could to get it on the screen. But it was buried in adoration for all the wrong reasons.

HAZ AL-DIN: Never in history have genuine Communists welcomed, encouraged, or cheered on the social confusion, disarray, and anarchy wrought by capitalism as ‘progressive.’ They have consistently rejected the bourgeois, ‘conservative’ reaction to this turmoil as false, hypocritical, and even outrageous not because they regard the thing itself as ‘progressive’ but precisely because such reaction distorts their true causes.

In this article, our detractors finally concede, and finally, if reluctantly recognize “the majority of founders and active members of the MAGA Communist tendency” are Communists and came from socialist backgrounds, and that MAGA Communism’s premise was in pursuit of a mass politics. With the immanent collapse and transformation of MAGA in the face of Zionism and imperialism, this article is doing what others on the Left and elsewhere have done since the start of Trump II: stealthily concede to the premise of MAGA Communism, and subtly claim credit for it. The author says, “It is the Democratic Socialists, Democrats, and forces like Tucker Carlson and Nick Fuentes who have won over those who have departed from the MAGA movement.” Haha, but hold on! When MAGA Communists were the first ones to even suggest this was possible — that MAGA people would defect from Trump in search of answers — we were called crazy, naive, etc. Now, when our prediction becomes a reality, it’s assimilated into the Democrat Left’s unchanged doctrine, and we get no credit. The rest of the article makes so many factual mistakes and conjectured claims that the underlying message isn’t sustained, but I will say this: MAGA Communist pre-party cadre were unable to cohere a nationally significant politicized mass portion out of the MAGA base. Why? 1) Many people who would have done that were dedicating their time to work in the CPUSA, which was ultimately necessary and inevitable. 2) Other such potential “cadre,” who were not in the CPUSA, were (imo) too lazy and did not do enough of anything on the ground. 3) MAGA itself was decentralized and unconcentrated. There were many of us who identified MAGA sections in unions, community groups, heath groups, towns, etc. and were able to break ice with them and develop relationships. But only a minority of MAGA could be find concentrated like this. The rest were ordinary people who had very limited time for organizing themselves. Really, the ultimate problem is that MAGA was dispersed and unorganized, and shy. MAGA Communism, therefore, practically meant the primary organization of MAGA itself. This was tried by a handful of people, while they withstood attacks from the entire Left and tried to work within the CPUSA at the same time. In under 2 years the ACP went from 0 to 1,000 members, hundreds disciplined and well-organized, from 0 structures to a complex and robust party culture, from few working community and labor relationships to each chapter having multiple strong ones, most of which is not posted about consistently (just like any other organization). And yes, we have attracted many ex-MAGA people who would never have anything to do with any other Democrat organization. Anyone who can’t admit the ACP is at least punching within their weight class (if they refuse to admit we punch above it), is putting their head in the sand. If the expectation for organizations of 1,000 is to organize a significant fraction of 30 million people and reverse decades of anticommunism in under 2 years, and anything less than that is “failure” and “stagnation,” then absolutely no one is passing that test. The Left has had, let’s be charitable and say, at least 11 years since Bernie announced his campaign to develop “social bases” and “organization.” The DSA, the ‘successful fruit’ of the Bernie campaigns, is an organization of 100,000 with a social base of depressed academics and professionals. They forget only the blue-collar proletariat they scorn is the master of history. Only ACP is met with such high expectations. Which is another way of saying, only ACP is recognized as having that potential. And it’s true. Now just watch!

“MAGA Communism is dead.” From rally-side interviews to the launch of the “American Communist Party,” Gigi G. explores the arc of a tendency that chased the MAGA base, mistook engagement for organization, and built a “party” that never transcended the internet. No movement, no impact, no mass base—just content, metrics, and a theory that folded the moment it faced the reality of American political conditions. Why did it collapse at the exact moment it claimed history was on its side? geesemag.com/articles/an-au…

There is a big gulf between “nothing” and “something.” There are other more significant unsubstantiated claims. Unlike what the article says, we have benefitted a lot from the split in MAGA, and in terms of evidence, new members will say as much in onboarding calls. We’ve heard worse but wouldn’t hurt for critics to make some small steps in the interest of impeccability

@Talonsight I’d say that what you described is in the scope of existing micro parties and the rest is polemical gloss on a fairly undistinguished track record of activism. You guys have said (and heard) a lot worse, I’m sure

@Talonsight I don’t think anything the article states contradicts those things. After all, all types of left sects have been doing all those things forever—it’s not a statement about whether or not the ACP has done activism, but a criticism of the ideology embodied in MAGA communism

That’s good, I appreciate good faith. As the article notes, though, other Leftists do not wish to recognize that. It would have been worthwhile for the editors to check or corroborate some of the factual claims here by reaching out to some ACP people. E.g. there was an organized effort to elect Chris Helali, it wasn’t just a meme, we have fought with tenants and helped unions organize, and not just drayage truckers, Infrared did call for social investigation in 2024, not just pumping media metrics or whatever, etc.

BP has illegally locked out over 1,000 workers in Indiana, trying to break the union and replace over 100 with non-union labor. ACP members visited the strike line to hear the worker’s grievances and stand in solidarity. Their fight is our fight. The future belongs to the working class!

State expenditure on education. “The whole people must take upon themselves the education of the whole people and be willing to bear the expenses of it. There should not be a district of one mile square, without a school in it, not founded by a charitable individual, but maintained at the public expense of the people themselves.” — John Adams, U.S. President, 1785
