Today we announce a new policy: In order to deport all illegal migrants in Britain, Reform will need to detain tens of thousands at a time. Migrants will not be able to leave these detention centres, and each will be held there a couple of weeks before being deported. This is an important exercise in democratic consent, not just for our mass deportation policy, but for where the detention centres are placed. The Times: “The slowdown (in illegal immigration) began in October and now appears established. As of yesterday 6,416 small-boat migrants had reached Britain compared with 9,885 by April 30 last year, a drop of more than a third. The number of crossings is the lowest at this point at this stage of the year since 2023, when it was 5,745. This is despite significant numbers of “red days” when weather and sea conditions were good enough to attempt a crossing.” Could Farage and his colleagues not be commenting on that because it doesn’t suit their political agenda?
