@SCDC87 This just basic triage - the same principle that the ER uses to determine who gets seen in what order. We need more of this. Frontline response, then escalate the more dangerous/complex cases to doctors so they don’t waste time on easy diagnoses. It’s obvious.

Anyone remotely interested in lower-cost or universal healthcare will need to get over unfounded biases against NPs/the belief that the current length and expense of medical education for doctors is necessary for quality in general practice.

When I go to a doctor's office I should be able to a board certified physician, not a physician's assistant or a nurse practitioner. They may be good people that are good at their jobs but they do not have the robust education and training of an MD.

I mean. Some things aren't misogynistic. The Dreaming is the rawest she got and it's still got a lot of lilting piano and madrigal choruses. Maybe it's just that women are smart and refined enough to make heady baroque pop and more dudes just end up playing scary riffs.

I often wonder: if Kate Bush had been a man, would her music still be relegated to the 'art-pop' label? It almost feels like there's an unspoken rule reserving art-pop for women, while art-rock remains the domain of men.

@norabird Isn’t that just another form of worrying for no reason? I can’t say mine are perfectly rational but they mostly revolve around the precariousness of our society - job loss leading to homelessness, etc. they feel relatively well rooted for me.

One of my crank opinions is ppl didn't read Into the Wild & I agree w/ Krakauer: McCandless used guide books showing a plant was safe to eat, didn't say a part was toxic. He lived 4 months off the land SUCCESSFULLY (critics try it) & would've been able to cross the river back.

@SeanCooperPoems I simply can’t connect with these types. And to have it turn into an epic story of survival - oh he could have made it except! - yeah the same was true of people who got injured despite being around people. Those who died of tooth infections.

@SeanCooperPoems Fair enough. I don’t like survival stories because we are social animals so it was wrong headed to me from the start. And using existing info collected from fellow humans while spurning them feels like cheating? We spent a lot millennia learning these lessons so hard to feel bad

I remember the first Cobert Report, bc my Dad was in hospice and we expected him to die that night. My mom and I spent the night there and watched Cobert, laughing our selves sick. Dad didn’t die that night. He actually rallied and lived another week.

@DeadOnThePage But sometimes the art comes mostly from a singular voice and if you can’t get there it’s not gonna work overall. Rare. Most work is fully collaborative. But Harmon is a rare species, you cannot imitate his writing, though he obviously needs help from many areas in the final thing
