@Tom_R_Alliance Could you please tell me what the natural science degrees are called? Thank you.
English

@TatBKa @JulietMosesNZ To genuinely answer: yes you are missing something. At tertiary level in NZ "arts" (not fine art) refers to the entirety of humanities, history, social sciences. For example, the national party Finance Minister Nicola Willis has an arts degree in English.
English

Josephine Varghese, an arts lecturer at the University of Canterbury with a special interest in “critical studies around colonialism and capitalism”, is very excited about NZ’s newest political party. She explains that the purpose of the party is not to “seek power but to raise awareness” because it’s not getting enough attention and that “the Palestinian issue is not an issue just of Palestine” but “it is the tip of the spear of a global working class struggle against a small elite the Epstein billionaire class”.

“As a Jewish student at King’s College, I’m being persecuted for my beliefs,” says second-year student Tali Smus.
After a promising first few hours at university, Tali’s experience quickly soured as she faced harassment and abuse from fellow students because she does not hate Israel.
In a WhatsApp class group, one student wrote, in relation to a lecture series on the Israel–Hamas conflict: “Finally, an attempt to educate the Zionists.” When Tali asked what was meant by the remark, she was met with a barrage of abuse, including the sinister message: “Can’t [sic] wait to see you tomorrow Tali”, and another saying: “Come sort out the Zionist.”
Tali said that, as an 18-year-old student, she found herself crying on her bed. She said: “University is meant to be a place of learning, of free expression, of understanding. But after less than 24 hours at King’s, these values were nowhere to be seen. I was scared. Scared of what the next day (my second in higher education) would bring.
“But I kept quiet. I had my brother take me from home to class, wait for me, and stay with me so I could feel a modicum of safety. From then on, most of my classmates acted as if I wasn’t there. For the next couple of weeks, that became my new normal.”
On the first anniversary of Hamas’s heinous 7 October attacks, students staged a pro-Palestine walkout to mark what they called “one year of genocide”. Tali stood alongside other Jewish students in opposition to the demonstration.
She was met with further abuse, including attacks on her character and calls for her to be removed from the course. One student wrote: “As a group we should just band together and carry out at that point (should she interrupt a lecture and ask a question).”
Tali said: “From then on, most other students ignored me in person but talked about me openly. I left most of my classes in tears. The silence was deafening. That kind of isolation I wouldn’t wish on anyone.”
She added: “Nearly two years on, I’m still isolated at this prestigious and historic place of learning. All because I’m a proud Jew who does not hate Israel.”
Despite reporting the incidents to the university, Tali said she was met with little more than empty words. The Metropolitan Police also said it had “not been able to identify any messages which would be able to prove any offences such as racially aggravated / motivated harassment, alarm or distress”.
Tali concluded: “Universities preach the importance of talking about mental health but then, in my case and others, do nothing or very little when you are the victim of pure hatred by your classmates. No matter your political beliefs, no person should be told their identity is wrong, that their beliefs don’t matter, that they aren’t welcome.”

Video from the asteroid!
In 2018, the Hayabusa-2 spacecraft deployed small rovers onto the surface of the asteroid Ryugu. This is a sequence of 15 frames captured by Rover-1B. As the asteroid rotates, the position of the Sun and the surface lighting change. The video spans a period of one hour and 14 minutes.

A New York City public school teacher has been holding a wildly antisemitic conspiracy theory podcast since 2015.
He talks about many conspiracies he holds as truth in his podcast, including that Israel killed JFK, the moon landing was fake, and that Jewish owner of the World Trade Centers, Larry Silverstein, knew of the plans for the 9/11 attacks.
This man has been entrusted with educating children and that should scare you.

@YossiBenYakar Speaking and reading about the "hard life" of the Palestinian people (that is, her as a Palestinian) from a phone, and to a teacher at that, seems very strange!
English

In Britain, antisemitism is being taught from a young age.
At the University of Hertfordshire, they hosted teacher Zeinab Kamal presented as a “London Palestinian”, who spread vicious lies and hatred against Israel to students.
She is a British citizen who receives financial support from UK taxpayers, yet she openly promotes anti-Israel propaganda and incitement inside British educational institutions.
This is how Jew-hatred is being injected into Britain’s education system, by people the country itself is funding.

DAVE RUBIN: “Do you not want people to own private property?”
WOMAN: “I’m definitely anti-capitalist...Workers should own the means of production.”
RUBIN: “So you’re a communist?”
WOMAN: “Yeah!”
RUBIN: “I haven’t talked to a real-life communist.”
WOMAN: “What’s a communist?”
RUBIN: “Well, you want the people, you want the ‘people to own the means of production,’ and you don’t seem to believe in private property.”
WOMAN: “The people who create value, as in create the value of commodities, should own the actual value that they create from that process.”
RUBIN: “Do you work?”
WOMAN: “Yeah.”
RUBIN: “Do you pay taxes?”
WOMAN: “Yeah.”
RUBIN: “I want you to keep more of your money. Whatever you earn, I want you to have more of that money so you can put it back into the system.”
WOMAN: “The majority of wealth in this system is owned by 1% of the population. You understand that, right?”
RUBIN: “Do you know how much that 1% pays in taxes?”
WOMAN: “Not nearly enough.”
RUBIN: “It’s 47%. 1% of the population pays 47%. You accept that?”
WOMAN: “Yeah.”
RUBIN: “What would be their fair share?”
WOMAN: “Majority of these lineages of power and ownership date back to—”
RUBIN: “What would be their fair share?”
WOMAN: “You’re not letting me finish.”
RUBIN: “What would be their fair share?”
WOMAN: “Their wealth is coming from the back ends of colonialism, so it’s not gonna work!”

@mauricejblack @IrishTimes The same economic arguments and the same despicable threats from the USA did not stop Ireland becoming the first state in Europe to boycott Apartheid South Africa. In making a moral stand then the Irish lead the way for the rest of Europe to follow. Boycott Apartheid Israel.👍

Pat Leahy in the @IrishTimes ponders the looming economic consequences of Irish antisemitism.
"Whether we like it or not, demonstrations against the Israeli soccer team playing in Dublin, booing the anthem and so on, will be interpreted in many quarters – especially in the United States – as further evidence of anti-Semitism in Ireland.
Yes, I know you think that’s unjustified. But the perception is taking hold. For a country that is so depending on foreign direct investment – and has grown wealthy on the back of it – this is something we would be foolish not to consider.
[...]
Look around. Last week a Dublin city councillor posted online about how we needed a 'real final solution'. Protesters routinely call, not just for the salvation of Palestinians, but for the destruction of the state of Israel. Of all the streets and parks that Dublin city councillors choose to rename, they pick the one named after an Irish Jew."

These two have to be the year’s most despicable people and there has been some pretty stiff competition. It has to be called out by everyone.
I mean a child’s Dad is murdered in cold blood by a lunatic ideologue and these people praise the killer and tell the kids they are better off without their Dad?
But this lack of basic morality will boomerang on them. It’s already happening. It’s why so many young people are going back to religion.
Human beings at our core understand the difference between right and wrong.

25 BRIGHTEST STARS YOU CAN SEE FROM EARTH
These aren’t just pinpricks of light… they’re blazing cosmic beacons that have guided humanity for millennia From Sirius — the dazzling Dog Star, brightest of them all —
to colossal supergiants whose ancient glow has journeyed thousands of light-years just to sparkle in your backyard tonight Every time you tilt your head upward, you’re catching light that left its star before the pyramids were built, before dinosaurs roamed, sometimes before Earth even existed You’re not merely stargazing.
You’re time-traveling.
You’re witnessing raw stellar power across impossible distances.
You’re touching the living history of the universe itself Look up tonight… and feel the cosmos looking back.

🚨 More garbage at Ohio University that your tax dollars are funding:
President Lori Stewart-Gonzalez earns a whopping salary of $768,000, with perks that are insulting to anyone with a brain.
Two weeks ago, she welcomed a degenerate podcaster on her campus who loves Hitler.
Amrou Fudl, a.k.a, 'Myron Gaines,' is from Sudan. He's a a Holocaust denier who once told a pregnant Jewish woman that she was a "fat f*cking Jew."
Ohio University invited him to "debate students," but there was no debate. He was there to spread vile antisemitism and hatred of America.
As soon as he arrived, he threw a Nazi salute to students.
Our Dept of Education is about to fork over $212 million in federal funding for OU.
