This is communism not socialism. NYC is on the verge of electing a 33 year old communist with no work or executive experience who is promising to make tons of things free, all paid for by people who work for a living, by raising taxes on working people in a City that already has the highest tax rate in the country and has the most people leaving than anywhere else in the country . Oh yes he is also an anti-semite in a City with the most Jews outside of Israel. All because 5% of Dem voters voted for him and he got the Dem line on the ballot. People like @RepJerryNadler @NydiaVelazquez endorsed him because he got the line. Good comrades. There is nothing about any of this that makes any sense. We must continue to resist. @OneCityRisingNY @GovKathyHochul @RepJeffries @SenSchumer @RitchieTorres @MonaDavids @ycinnewyork @SquarePegDem @Tom_Suozzi @RepDanGoldman @RepGregoryMeeks

It’s not even three months into this and it’s getting worse by the hour. We have an inexperienced mayor who has brought in a slew of his inexperienced comrades to run the city and the negative consequences are swift and serious. That’s what happens in the real world. This mayor has never had a real job outside of politics and nepo baby world. He has no business experience. He talks a good game on TikTok, but that’s about it. Thank God we have a decent comptroller . Imagine if @bradlander was still in charge of the finances? He would be lying through his teeth. @OneCityRisingNY
Mark D. Levine@MarkLevineNYC

And now @FitchRatings has moved NYC's fiscal outlook to "negative" as well. x.com/NYCComptroller…

Good afternoon, I feel it appropriate to respond to the comments made in @TheRockawayWave & on the Friends of Rockaway Beach Facebook page regarding my absence from last Saturday's Rockaway St Patrick's Day Parade. Most would not know but I was attending my eldest Son's wedding

The homelessness system in NYC has been built cynically on exploiting our sense of morals, compassion and civic responsibility, and no one wins except the so called “ not for profits.” There is nothing moral or ethical about pretending rampant spending to enrich NGO’s at the expense of people who really need help isn’t a problem. There is very little about any of this that is “not for profit” but as we see from the exploding numbers over the last few years @bradlander turned a blind eye. ( His wife Meg Barnett was the industry’s chief lobbyist while he was comptrollers.) Now will @MarkLevineNYC and @NYCMayor take a closer look at what has sadly become an actual “homeless industrial complex? “ It’s time to demand a fresh approach . We need a clear plan for oversight, transparency and accountability for achieving outcomes that actually help people. Ensuring money is spent honestly and appropriately requires reviewing and auditing contracts, spending and accountability for results. And keeping the public informed. Thank you @NYSComptroller for opening the books. New Yorkers: let’s not squander this opportunity to push leaders to set this on the right course. @OneCityRisingNY @stick_dynamite @TheKvetcher @bronxilla @PetePanuccio @susanleenyc @ycinnewyork @queens_parents @katiewr31413491 nypost.com/2026/03/16/opi…

People running city-funded "nonprofit" homeless shelters shouldn't be making $1,000,000. Not only is it outrageous, it breeds corruption and subverts democracy. The mayor of NYC makes $258,750 a year. People working under him, including those who award city contracts, make less.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day. New York will celebrate this holiday even if the Mayor dismisses it and disrespects the Irish American community. As my Irish extended family would say “ There’s always someone to rain on the parade.” , Éirinn go Brách ⁦@OneCityRisingNY

New York City, meet the hero cops who apprehended two individuals charged with ISIS-inspired terrorism last week. Our entire city owes these officers a debt of gratitude. They are a reminder that the safety and security of New York City rests on the judgment and courage of the men and women of the NYPD. On Saturday, March 7, that was on full display. When two IEDs were ignited in the middle of a crowded protest, these officers didn’t step back. They stepped forward without hesitation and without regard for their own safety. They acted on instinct and training to protect people they did not know and would likely never meet. Moments like that remind us what policing truly requires.

The US and the world have conveniently forgotten about the 2021 uprising and the young people who were arrested and sentenced to decades in prison. In some cases their prison terms, just for attending a protest or filming the protest , were LONGER than the number of years they were alive. It is a human rights tragedy of epic proportions. It’s hard to fathom the pain the mothers of these young people must feel. It’s astonishing how much violence and abuse occurs in Cuba and the world remains silent. The Communist Cuban government is committing the equivalent of genocide against its own young people, and all of this is happening just a few miles off the coast of US shores. bbc.com/news/world-lat…

NYC urgently needs your help: Tomorrow (Tues) night is the annual HOPE count, when 1000+ NYers fan out across the five boroughs to identify the number of people experiencing homelessness. This year's count was rescheduled due to the snow storm. And now the # of volunteers signed up is only 50% of last year. Will take place March 10, 10pm-4am. For more info and to sign up: nyc.gov/hope. Please help spread the word.

This is why we should require permits for rallies over a certain size and why we need time place in Manor restrictions equally enforced across-the-board as is consistent and allowed under the first amendment. With a socialist mayor, which is the envelope on what is acceptable at every opportunity New York City will probably continue to attract extremist so we need to pay attention to this and make sure we’re taking steps to keep everybody safe

@Maria4Dist6 The self pity!! Omg ! I wish u guys could’ve seen it. Maybe 20 freaks from out of town, shouting & seemingly lost. I’d bet those idiots can barely tie their shoes. Then there were 2 ISIS inspired terrorists who tried to kill everyone.

Mayor’s press conference covered in post below. Blaming the victim is not exactly what the City needs right now. Or putting this act of terrorism in “context.” From the bizarre comments from elected leaders all weekend it’s pretty clear they have lost the plot ( see @bradlander for example) . We need to reset the moral compass and stop making excuses for violence. Unfortunately killing or attempting to kill people who some extremists believe deserve to die like Brian Thompson, Charlie Kirk, DT, and others will not stop until leaders change their tune and stop giving oxygen to any suggestion, no matter how subtle , that such violence may be justified. For Pete’s sake there is a play opening in NY called “Luigi” which is now monetizing the cult adoration for the murderer of an innocent man gunned down by a domestic terrorist. What we need: moral clarity. No excuses. No “they are just kids”. No pandering to the base. No victim blaming. No “depends on the context.” This weekend hit too close to home for so many New Yorkers, myself included. A close friend missed being killed by the Boston Bombers by just a few minutes. My sister was in the first WTC attack and was a block away from the Pentagon when it was struck on 9/11. Several friends and acquaintances were killed in that attack and we know several people who died of health complications years later. The list goes on. So yes , they lost the plot. We need leadership that makes it clear NYC will not become a haven for terrorists of any political stripe or religious affiliation. Being anti-terrorist is not an “ism”. Everyone needs to come together with this message: will not normalize violence no matter the context. No matter the target. Thank God no one was seriously hurt. This time. @OneCityRisingNY @JCAndersonNYC @GovKathyHochul @ericadamsfornyc @katiewr31413491 @KathleenWood @stick_dynamite @savetheuws @lawler4ny @RitchieTorresNY

"This was a vile protest rooted in white supremacy, entitled Stop the Islamic takeover of New York City. I'm the first Muslim mayor of our city, anti-Muslim bigotry is nothing new to me, nor is it anything new for the 1 million or so Muslim New Yorkers," Mayor Mamdani says. "While I found this protest appalling, I will not waver in my belief that it should be allowed to happen."

The problem here is that the last time this happened a few years ago the Cuban military killed or arrested thousands of people. Young people were sent to jail for decades. The world has forgotten about those young people sitting in jail all these years. It’s a tragedy that the world has ignored.

This is a very scary and isolated subway platform several levels below ground and I try to avoid it. I hope there were cameras everywhere so @NYPDnews can catch the culprit and “get them the help they need” behind bars. In the meantime, I beg my family and friends, to be extra cautious and vigilant as subway platforms are not safe. But every other person on every subway platform is scrolling on their phones while standing next to the platform edge as if bad things happen only to other people. @OneCityRisingNY
