@DHTDurrant @TTRadioOfficial Stand outside a chicken shop because of complaints about fighting is not the same as banning students from going into any shops. Not complicated.
English

@TTRadioOfficial Absolutely right as well. In a very tough school in SE London when I was HoY 10&11, the HT and I used to stand outside Chicken Cottage 🤮after school after community complaints about fighting. Go. Straight. Home. Not complicated.

NEW: In new BBC article on Mossbourne Academy, a parent claims pupils were punished for stopping at a shop on the way home in uniform. Mossbourne responded saying pupils are not permitted to enter shops in uniform, as travelling directly between home and school "ensures the school can maintain appropriate safeguarding standards". Anyone seen going into a shop after school in uniform "is sanctioned… This is about safety".

@DudespostingWs Give a bird a fish and you feed it for dinner. Teach a bird to cook and you have a novelty chef for life.

@Skriptkeeper17 This is obviously a toxic relationship and I blame her for staying with him. If she’s going to call the cops on him for what he regularly does. This is a classic victim card of a female that chooses to be in an abusive relationship.

@RachelFairfiel1 @jdurran @MBDscience Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should. Plus, is taking screenshots of people who’ve blocked you and tweeting them ok?

@MyLordBebo Hell yeah!!
Everytime he says America will have to send her sons and daughters, I want to go through my tv!

It’s not a controversial view.
**Ordo Amoris** is a Latin term that translates to "order of love" or "the order of loving." It originates from the philosophical and theological works of St. Augustine, where it refers to the proper ordering of one's loves or affections. In Augustine's view, humans should love things in accordance with their true worth or value, with God at the pinnacle, followed by other humans, and then material things.
Here's a brief breakdown:
- **God**: The highest love, as God is seen as the ultimate good.
- **Humans**: Love for neighbors, encompassing charity and justice.
- **Self**: A proper love for oneself, which includes self-care but not selfishness.
- **Material World**: Love for the world and its beauty but in a manner that recognizes these as lesser than spiritual goods.
This concept has been influential in Christian ethics, suggesting that moral actions derive from correctly ordering one's loves. Misordering love (e.g., loving material wealth more than loving others or God) leads to moral and spiritual disorder.
In contemporary philosophy, the term can also be found in discussions about ethics, where it might be used to discuss how individuals prioritize their affections, desires, or values in life.

A bizarre take on John 15:12-13 - less Christian and more pagan tribal. We should start worrying when politicians become theologians, assume to speak for Jesus, and tell us in which order to love…

JD VANCE: There is a Christian concept that you love your family and then you love your neighbor, and then you love your community, and then you love your fellow citizens, and then after that, prioritize the rest of the world A lot of the far left has completely inverted that

@littlewarrior In my experience teachers who talk to students like that also talk to their colleagues like it.

@UnofficialOA Then why the heck did I becomw a teacher? It’s a perk of the job 😉

I don’t know which teacher needs to hear this, but when you play a video for the class, you don’t have to keep pausing it so you can repeat exactly what the man in the video just said.

@BracewellMr @davowillz @ShakinthatChalk Sorry, I really don’t mean to do that & I really don’t mean to say you should be different. Genuinely sorry for that, it’s my issue.
English

@davowillz @ShakinthatChalk Your jump to “they should lead what occurs in the classroom” is a huge leap. I would argue that based on the statement itself is an unwarranted conclusion unless relying on prior assumptions.
English

@davowillz @ShakinthatChalk You could only come to this view because of prior assumptions about a progressive approach ti teaching per se.
English

@davowillz @ShakinthatChalk … I (in some sense) feel like I’m teaching the same ild stuff but learning lots of new things through students. Maybe that’s too ‘prog’ or virtue signalling for some ppl. But I interpreted the saying charitably in that way.
English

@davowillz @ShakinthatChalk I’d extend that… I teach my students a lot. But I feel that in many ways I teach the same topics, year-in year-out. To me, over and over. Every year I encounter situations, scenarios and learning issues which are new to me. I reflect, adapt and evolve….
