Dean Henderson says his family have been affected by "inappropriate" and "hurtful" rumours about him on social media, which he says have attached his name to "totally false news". Full story: bbc.in/365DlOs

@physedshep Particularly in our context (fee paying) I think parents would want face to face rather than video. Whilst I prefer online for ease I also value face time with parents to build good relationships #TeachBKKchat

Here we go folks 🙌 Is there anything that you only found as a result of the restrictions on face to face teaching that you will keep using when things are back to normal? 🎯 A resource 🎯 A website 🎯 A technique 🎯 A change in the way you do something #TeachBKKchat

@EoinLead4change I think the onus should be on the schools to be really forward thinking about recruitment and accept that the world looks (and feels) different right now. Successful schools will recruit with wellbeing as a priority #TeachBKKchat

@EoinLead4change Yes but a lot hinges on if they change their mind this end, having said that its not like the UK is much more stable right now. I don't know the situation in the ME i wonder if that will be a bigger/smaller draw when all said and done... #TeachBKKchat

And finally... Obviously be cautious in what you reveal about your context and setting, but speaking generally... 🎯Existing staff more likely to stay/go? 🎯New staff harder/easier to recruit? 🎯Is Thailand as attractive to prospective staff anymore? #TeachBKKchat

@ThtPedagogyGeek It will be interesting to see if int recruitment is affected this year after 2 years of living with the pandemic and a sub study of if certain countries face less challenges. Perhaps linked to response to the pandemic Something for @IntlTes to look at ? #TeachBKKchat

@TeachBKKchat Pffft hard to say about recruitment, feel it could go either way... People fed up in the UK look for alternatives abroad Or Because of all the uncertainty they decide to stay out close to family, access to NHS etc #TeachBKKchat

@ThtPedagogyGeek @TeachBKKchat Yes. I've only done this in KS5 too. I actually think the structure with reasonable/negotiated deadlines works better for the majority of KS3 and 4.

Ok on to the next section A really important consideration as it looks like (for now) we may be leaving online and hybrid learning behind from January #TeachBKKchat

@EoinLead4change Yes, I think coming back has actually for many been a welcome reprieve but you are right anxiety generally is quite high .... For students (and staff and parents) Is there anything you/your school have tried to try to mitigate this? #TeachBKKchat

@TeachBKKchat Not so much about coming back to fully in-person, no. But Covid has caused increased anxiety in students, I think #TeachBKKchat

@TeachBKKchat Good question. I think there is more pressure in Years 11-13 for sure. It's just hard to tell what is normal and 'healthy' examination anxiety and what is problematic. Which is why I think voice and trusting students to manage their own learning are such powerful tools!

@The_LittlePilot Is that the same across all stages KS3 same as KS4 and Ks5 for example ? Do we think different years are handling it better than others so far? #TeachBKKchat

@TeachBKKchat Not on the surface, no. I think at the moment anxiety is either unknown, hidden, normalised, or masked by the excitement of seeing friends again. However, it is very much at the forefront of my mind personally and as an educator. #TeachBKKchat
