This type of rhetoric is meant to make people believe that Trump and his supporters are a direct threat to them, their families, and the country. Democrats create imaginary threats and then promise to save people from said threats. Look no further than the No Kings rallies. A bunch of people protesting a king that does not exist. When a political party is constantly preaching to the country that the other side is out to hurt them and to hurt the most vulnerable people in society, it shouldn't be a surprise when some people attempt to end the threats that they actually believe exist.
