@hfpreston What if that employee “secretly” took the morning off and is just shifting their work to hours outside of your normal working hours? Results > Hours, focus on outputs not inputs, lead by example - do you work/respond outside of your work period? Encourage time off regularly. ¢2

When I notice someone on my team working late, on PTO, or on a weekend I try to encourage them to sign-off and go enjoy their downtime. I've found that suggestions are almost never "heeded" Whether because of stress, boredom, or just enjoying work, there is always a reason. 1/2

@sytses Right now the cost burden for office space falls to the company for in-person work and to the employee for remote work (because it’s still considered a privilege). Do you see this changing?

The shift to remote work is having a bifurcated effect on the real estate market. Houses are getting more expensive because people suddenly need one or two extra rooms to work from. Commercial office space is becoming cheaper. Expect to see more office to residential conversions.
