#India just launched its first #hydrogen-powered passenger train today! 🚂 PM Shri @narendramodi flagged it off on the Jind–Sonipat route in Haryana. It is major milestone for the #nation and a proud moment. Here’s what actually happened + why it still matters 👇

3/4 The world’s first hydrogen passenger train was Germany’s Alstom Coradia iLint, which entered commercial service in 2018. Countries like Japan, China, and the US have also developed hydrogen trains since then. India has now joined this select group with a bigger, more powerful train tailored for our network.

2/4 India’s train highlights: • 10-coach trainset (2 power cars + 8 coaches) • 2,400 kW total power — one of the longest & most powerful hydrogen trains on broad gauge • Fully designed & built in India (RDSO + ICF Chennai) • Zero emissions — only water vapour as byproduct • Runs ~356 km daily on a single refuel A strong step toward green mobility on routes where full electrification is challenging.

Who is @nitin_gadkari? A politician, who is the 40th Union minister of Road, Transportation and Highways. This individual constantly speaks about E20, E20, E85 and E100. This minister does not have any locus standi on Oil & Gas sector. He also speaks about race cars using ethanol, but he forgets conveniently that passenger cars are not designed to extract the full potential of ethanol as race cars. He also did not mention that after all race engines are overhauled and fine-tunned (need of the race cars). So why does he often engage in such matters, does he have vested interest in it? This is to be investigated? Although under MoRTH he has authority to regulate vehicle - such as mandating flex fuel engine but NOT OVER FUEL itself. Highway & bridges built under his leadership is vanishing under thin air, and he does not want us to focus on his shortcomings Therefore, I would advise my fellow citizen to ignore him and also ignore (vote other candidate) him on next election.
