@LeutrimRexhaj @SpecialPuppy1 It’s a comment on double standards in terms of overall reaction, not that she should specifically resign from a job. I think Brianna is being a little egregious, but it is not about that she should resign

@constans @BonessWF …damage, particularly to Israel. On the other hand, it does seem plausible the planning and expectations from the US were for a swifter war.

@constans @BonessWF Yeah, by why won’t people push back? My claim is that is bc of the power dynamic. Is Iran really pushing back? I seem to be pretty unique on this app in that it’s no so clear to me whether the war is going well or not; on the one hand, i would have expected a lot more…

Trump has always understood that people find it easier to just go along with him and give him what he wants. But Iran is refusing to do so while Israel his pushing him into a position he doesn’t want to be in, and this is something he’s not used to
david c. porter (read NTTN)@toomuchistrue

fundamentally what's enabled trump to "wriggle out of it" again and again is that when you're president of the united states and say something is so, a great machine is immediately set to work bringing reality into, at the very least, a workable semblance of alignment with it

@BonessWF @constans To put it another way, he may absolutely prove to be the great disaster many predict; I don’t have a strong POV on the future. But I also don’t think there is a lot of good evidence to make the claim disaster is inevitable or even like 60/ 80% likely

@BonessWF @constans …POV in the situation being discussed. Whether Trumps policies ultimately lead to disaster is certainly a possibility but that doesn’t invalidate the fact that a huge volume of claims / predictions about actions have not panned out.

@BonessWF @constans Sure…but IMO it’s way too early to draw conclusions about how the Iran situation will resolve. The broader point is the people consistently make claims that Trump actions will lead to imminent disaster and they don’t bear out. I don’t thinks it’s bc he’s just lucky.

@TechnoPulp @constans The framing of whether he “wriggled out” is not helpful. Foreign policy is an extremely long term game. These decisions have knock on effects that echo down the centuries.

@BuckMulligan14 @ZaidJilani The entire quote: “History proves that, unfortunately and unhappily, Jesus Christ has no advantage over Genghis Khan. Because if you are strong enough, ruthless enough, powerful enough, evil will overcome good." Enough context?

@ZaidJilani @HighOnAgenda They do probably care about their way of life continuing, which unfortunately requires more than just faith at times.

@yacineMTB Type 1 report is actually pretty generic though…it’s actually the kind of thing many companies could use the same template for, at least as a starting point…

@BonessWF @constans Maybe, but at the time many people claiming there would be a severe response right away; and it wasn’t just that there was no WWIII, there wasn’t even a serious escalation from Iran. it’s just 1 example. Are u saying he doesn’t consistently “wriggle out” of these situations?

@TechnoPulp @constans Nothing happens in a vacuum. You could argue that the killing soleimani (as well as the withdrawal from the JCPOA and the sanctions that followed) all set the stage for negotiations to fail leading to where we are today.

“War is bad” Ok I’m with you “This war primarily benefits another country at great expense to national treasury and is a danger in spinning out of control.” Yeah I can see that. “And that other country killed Charlie Kirk.” What… “And his wife trafficked children for Epstein.” Huh? “And Epstein worked for that country to black mail every world leader into doing its bidding using baby rape” Ok you’re all retarded. “You’re Jewish”

@windriderz49 @moorehn Yeah…it’s a pretty edge case interpretation; and the story is *a lot* more interesting if you take the view that the issue is class and not religion.

Gatsby has long been taught as a potentially Jewish character. In the book the narrator sees him meeting with Jewish mobsters. It is, in fact, his potential Jewishness that explains both why Daisy will not marry him and why white supremacist eugenics makes an appearance in the book at the dinner party as a verbal assault against him. But the right doesn't take literature classes, so.

Gatsby just got dropped from the reading list at a lot of expensive colleges
