@UndercoverIndi I don’t know if I’ve ever had a rectifier tube (valve) actually “go bad”… I have had lots of vintage amps and have replaced them, but I don’t think I ever had one fail and they don’t get microphonic like preamp or power tubes. I am having a weird issue with my 66 Bassman ATM

@UndercoverIndi straight in and straight out… right? I’m going to see if the pins are even crusty and then just use an emery stick with deoxit (actually I have gold cleaner) instead of using my sacrificial tube set to clean the sockets.

@UndercoverIndi they weren’t “cheap” even back in 2000. They sounded fantastic! It’s one of the reasons I’m hoping it’s socket lint that’s the issue.

@UndercoverIndi storage was pretty well controlled to never go above 70F or lower than 50F… but it was my dad’s basement lol. I’m in the Boston area so without a dehumidifier in the loop (which there wasn’t) I can see this as an issue (or dirty sockets)
