@halleyji It is a mainstream film that pretends to be non-mainstream. The plot has holes and lacks rationale in many places. The only things that worked for me are the ending (which seems like the thing they constructed the entire plot for) and the explanation for why she ‘betrays’ him.

Watched Adivi Sesh's Dacoit. Very average movie. Mrunal Thakur seems to have gotten a full fledged role with some decent scope for actual acting. She did well. Adivi Sesh wasn't that great TBH. His Telugu accent was too off putting. I don't think he is ready for this kind of a full fledged hero role yet. My view ofcourse. Anurag Kashyap wasn't needed for that role. Could've gone to any seasoned character artist too. May be they did this for Pan India feels. But nothing special about his act. Looks like Telugu cinema is also going Tamil cinema way with monochromatic Oppressor Oppressed narratives on Caste. Also that dialogue mocking Ayyappa Deeksha was totally unnecessary and contributed nothing to the storyline. It is just pompous atheism of the hero in the movie and perhaps the director 's position in real life speaking. Overall plot also a tad too confusing. Is it some fugitive on the run movie? A heist movie? A love story? A caste oppression commentary? Some strange Khichdi. But we will watch any khichdi as Telugu film industry fans. Just that this kind of stuff won't pull me to cinemas. Okay for OTT watch.

@cobbaltt @BmaAnirudh Pōri actually literally means a maiden (or a "chick" in contemporary usage or slang). In Telugu I think this word is mostly used in Telangana to refer to one's own girlfriend (nā pōri) or to "that chick" (ā pōri). People who use that term are generally considered 'low-class.'

@MetalDude142678 Yeah,that was back in 2015. it started a long painful process that eventually killed my apologist side because I got red pilled to the truth that Christian apologetic critiques of Islam are in many aspects theological projections that end with you shooting yourself in the foot

The latter part you raise is what led me to start questioning Christian apologetics against Islam in the first place. "Oh you know there were all these reasons why God told them to kill those people, but that Quran is evil and violent and Muslims want to kill you" DOUBLE STANDARD

Javad Hashmi has made broader claims about what the historical Muhammad did in practice. Again, do not misrepresent what Crone has said. Also, if you read her piece carefully, she doesn't say that her interpretation is the only one.
