@tokyo_111 It’s your choice to work at a job that doesn’t have a pension.

My grandfather worked 40 years at one company got a pension of $2,800/month for life + healthcare until he died. He’s been retired 30 years, collected $1.008 million in pension payments. I’m 28, been at my job 6 years, have $47k in my 401k. If I retire at 67, it lasts until 82 if I’m lucky. He retired at 62. I’ll work until I die.

The worst Carter Hart take might be "I feel sorry for you daughters and wives!" Cool. How about for sons and husbands who get caught up in lies and omissions? Branded sexual predators - called rapists - even after being cleared in court? Those people don't deserve belief.

People quoting Carter Hart's testimony as some sort of proof of innocence are only showing that they believe accused rapists without question

The Vegas Golden Knights are now one win away from its third Stanley Cup Final appearance in nine NHL seasons. What a story. John Tortorella has done a tremendous job.

if carter hart is allowed to win a stanley cup then im never watching hockey again. ive been a diehard avalanche fan for the last 16 years, but i cannot in good conscience support a league where a rapist is allowed to play.

How can I root for the Habs? I grew up as a Habs fan for the NHL, an Oilers fan for the WHA. The Habs are one of the great NHL franchises, arguably the greatest, even as the 1984-85 Oilers were voted the greatest ever NHL team. It's high time a Canadian team won the Stanley Cup -- and will be good for NHL teams across Canada. I've seen no endless campaign from Montreal hockey commentators (unlike commentators in Toronto) suggesting that Connor McDavid should play for the Habs.

@dstaples @TheCultofHockey There’s only 32 head coaching jobs in the league so they won’t have problems finding coaches. The coach getting hired just have to realize that there’s no loyalty hence signing 3-5 year deals to protect themselves

Bruce Cassidy helped Vegas win a Stanley Cup. Then Vegas fired him. Now they are going to block him from choosing his next job? Who would want to work for an organization defined by malice and ingratitude? And what kind of team owner or manager would want to invite that kind of wretched karma on themselves? If Vegas carries through on this threat and blocks Cassidy, good luck to them with the curse it will put on their franchise.

@Cryptoboyy_Aji So pay rent for 30 years and then move out. What do you get back? So pay a mortgage for 30 years then sell the house. What do you get back?

the average US mortgage is $250,000 at 7% over 30 years. total repayment? $598,000. you borrow $250K and pay back $598K. $348,000 straight to the bank for nothing. then you pay to fix up the house. stuff breaks. you pay insurance monthly. property taxes every year. 3–6% in realtor fees when you sell. and we act like renting is throwing money away. there is a strong argument for renting.
