@Texas4872 @brittilina @ithinkformysel5 My kids were chalk and cheese. But I never hit them. Ever. One was much harder to maintain fair boundaries with, but it was my job to raise them both with kindness and respect.

18mo kids absolutely understand “stuff” (like doing what I want instead of what Mom and Dad tell me to do). You SHOULD spank your 18mo. Tell your 6mo “No!” Kids need structure and these are the ways we build it for them. And they thrive in it and appreciate us for it.

@brittilina @ithinkformysel5 The no spank people can do what they want with their kids, I give no cares. But I know I did what mine needed and when they act as though they know better than me, we'll, they can kiss my grits.

@brittilina @ithinkformysel5 The people who don't get that not every kid is a naturally compliant, easy kid are just condescending. Most of my kids were hardly spanked at all, but I had 1 absolute hellion, and had we not disciplined the way we did, he would have turned out horrible.

@HonestYPTweets If you are voting for a human being, you are voting for a sinner every time. I'll vote for the person whose policies align with mine and who will vote in the senate the way I want them to (at least most of the time).

Christians have two options when voting. Either don’t vote because both candidates violate your conscience with their life, policies, or beliefs. OR Vote for the lesser or the two evils. Meaning the candidate whose life, policies, or beliefs align with yours.

@ithinkformysel5 @brittilina I'm close with all of my kids, and they are close with each other. So, it seems as though spanking doesn't hurt kids.

@Texas4872 @brittilina Good for you. My kids did not get spanked and turned out to be amazing and respectful young people. And we are close. My parents spanked me and washed my mouth with soap. I turned out to be a decent human. I am not close with my parents.

@sethjlevy Texas voter here. Paxton has been a fantastic AG. That the Bush machine tried to take him out only makes me like him more. D's want R's to hold their candidates to moral standards that they never use on their candidates. I'm not playing that game.

Paxton understands how to win in Texas. He cuts through the noise. His state is very familiar with his imperfections. They will elect him for his governing philosophy.

@MQSullivan As an R voter who has had to vote for the fake R many times, I am so tired of this thing that the Bush and McCain people do. It's why I finally wasn't going to vote for Cornyn even if he won the primary. They will never return the support.

Let me explain something to Democrats commenting on Talarico being a “seminarian,” apparently believing that automatically makes him the Christian choice. And you probably won’t get it, but that’s okay. I’m going to explain it anyway. In the Book of James, people who assume the mantle of teacher but spread heresies are said to have “stricter” judgment that your average sinner. False teachers are repeatedly warned against throughout the scriptures, described as the worst types of wolves. In other words, while you can point to Paxton’s past transgressions, and that’s fair to talk about, you need to understand that what Talarico does and has done is no less sinful. And for the average devout Christian who isn’t part of a progressive heretical body, they see that and know that. You may not get it. You may think all this Christian stuff is just about saying a few words. But it’s not. Heresy is a grave sin, and something Christians are expressly told to flee from. So Christians are going to take that issue seriously in this race, even if it seems silly, unimportant, or unfair to you because you think, “Well, Talarico is nice so that makes him righteous.” Not how it works.

@orleansway All the people who say that spanking kids teaches them to hit should watch this video. My kids would have gotten a good spank if they ever did this, which is probably why my kids never did this.

Had Trump endorsed Cornyn then Paxton still would have won by a lot. That’s why Trump did not endorse Cornyn.

@TXFirst45 Way before Paxton entered this race or Trump endorsed him, I was never voting Cornyn again. Eben if Trump had endorsed Cornyn, I was voting Paxton. So, no, this doesn't prove what you think it does. It proves voters are tired of R's who ignore their base.

@tgiovanetti Look here, jerk, I have consistently voted R in Texas my entire voting life in the primary and general and then watched these "comservatives" not do what I voted for every time. That's why Cornyn is losing.

Returns so far are consistent with expectations that the angry populist base turns out in primaries and runoffs, and the general voting public does not, which gives you the nominee who plays to the angry populist base. Sad but no real surprise. #txlege
