My friend took a multi-week tour of the Balkans and spoke with people from Romania, Hungary, Bulgaria, Serbia, and Macedonia. He said he learned that the Balkans problem was that every single nation had picked the historical time when they were at their greatest territorial extent and felt THAT’S what they deserved. So Hungary wanted Transylvania, Bulgaria wanted Thrace, and so forth.
My favorite tale was when he met a depressed-looking Macedonian who told him, “By rights we should own all the way through Persia and Egypt.” Referencing Alexander I guess (yes I know).
Anyway with all these conflicting claims it’s insane.

It worked.
Sad to see a few of them go, but if you’re going to slam the Cardinal for this and make up false reasons for what happened, rather than just see both sides and be reasonable, then there’s no reason for us to interact.
It’s possible to be reasonable and say “that’s unfortunate, hope it can be worked out, ok yes there are guidelines but there is also flexibility”…
It’s really easy not to spread incitement and hate and false information.
One person I blocked doesn’t even live here and when I told him about my personal experience here in the war and what’s open and not open, he said “your experience doesn’t matter.” Well I think it does. I think 22 years in a city does matter. So…blocked. If you want to spread hate and conspiracies about a city I live in…so then maybe we don’t interact?

Because there's one for sale in the Lot valley, France. 7 bedrooms across 6 floors, a frescoed dining room, spiral staircase and views over a peaceful medieval village in the Lot region. There's also a 2-bedroom stone cottage in the walled courtyard, an enclosed garden and a heated swimming pool. Asking price: €550k ($634k). The Templar Knights who built this probably didn't picture the pool. But here we are.

This is the correct decision and what should have been done in the first place.
By all accounts, Cardinal Pizzaballa has cooperated with the safety concerns and cancelled the procession. It makes sense to ban large gatherings, for all religious groups, in those unprotected areas.
But if he and other Catholic leaders are willing to take the risk for themselves due to the importance of the holiday, then Israel should do everything possible to accommodate it.
Israel has enough problems without stepping on unnecessary and easily avoidable landmines. Whoever was foolish enough to not work with The Cardinal prior ti today to find a solution should be removed from the decision-making process.
