Happy Friday! If you want some great pieces to read over the weekend, I have a newsletter for you.
This week, I recommend pieces on why effeminate boys deserve defending (from @benappel), the theft of infinity (in @QuantaMagazine), and the death of Khamenei (by @lawsonreports).

I’m honored to announce I’ve stepped into the role of Editor-in-Chief at @DailyCaller.
After five years away, I returned to the Caller last January because I couldn’t ignore the mission any longer.
Our readers are regular Americans who’ve been let down by elite institutions and the legacy media. They deserve a newsroom that covers the stories that affect their lives, drives the conversation on the issues that matter, and actually cares about what happens beyond the Beltway.
I was raised by blue-collar parents in small-town America. I know what it’s like to be constantly bombarded with narratives that don’t match your everyday reality — and to watch talking heads refuse to say what used to be obvious.
That’s why last year we adopted a new masthead: Your Rebels in the Swamp.
We’re not in D.C. to serve the entrenched interests of the ruling class. We’re here to tell the truth and be a voice for forgotten America.
I’m grateful for the chance to recommit to — and help advance — that mission as EIC.
And I’m lucky to do it alongside a fantastic team that consistently breaks news and produces incisive commentary. We’re expanding video production and we’ve also launched @stateofthedayus on Substack.
Our potential is enormous, our future is bright, and I’m incredibly proud to be part of this next chapter. 🇺🇸

How do you make the best morning newsletter in the world even better?
That's the challenge I faced when I arrived at @thedispatch in August, becoming editor of The Morning Dispatch. My job wasn't just to keep it going at the same high standard, but to make it even better. And over the last four or so months, we have.
We have new features, with our shortform news coverage in "In Other News" and our editorial Q&A section, "Behind the Scenes." We have an updated, mobile-optimised design, which launched last week, and a podcast version, Dispatch Voiced, powered by @elevenlabs We have the best up-to-date news summaries you will find, sourced from reading hundreds of international publications every morning; and each issue contains a original, reported-out article, breaking down an important news item of the day. And for each piece, our reporters will often speak with over a dozen sources.
Perhaps it should come as no surprise then that in my first four months, we added well over 100,000 people to our daily active readership, without increasing churn or reducing our open rates (which are still comfortably above 40%—unheard of in our category). And we have even more ambitious goals this year.
I'm saying all this today because, for the one-year anniversary of Trump's inauguration, we took the ambition of our reporting to a new level. Rather than try to sum up a whole year of the presidency, we looked at a single point: what did Trump actually promise he would do in office, and how many of those promises has he fulfilled so far?
To find out, @philliesgattuso and I analysed 142 rallies that Trump spoke at in the run-up to the 2024 general election—along with five press conferences, 13 interviews and podcasts, two debates, and 33 other appearances—and broke down hundreds of distinct campaign promises.
