Court orders INEC to deregister Peter Obi’s NDC over logo infringement A Federal High Court in Lokoja has overturned its previous judgment directing the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to register the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) as a political party, effectively reversing all actions taken as a result of that ruling. In a judgment delivered on Friday, Justice Isah Dashen held that the court’s December 10, 2025 decision affected the rights of the Peace Movement Party (PMP), which was not joined in the suit despite claiming ownership of the logo used by the NDC. Speaking to journalists after the ruling, counsel to the PMP, C.S. Ekeocha, explained that the party approached the court after discovering that the NDC’s registration was based on a logo it had earlier submitted to INEC before the legal proceedings began. According to him, the court found merit in the party’s application and set aside the earlier judgment. It also ordered all parties to revert to the position they were in before the December 10, 2025 ruling and directed the claimants to include every necessary party in the case to ensure all issues are fully determined. Ekeocha said the decision means every step taken by INEC in compliance with the earlier judgment including the recognition of the NDC, the issuance of its certificate of registration, its inclusion in INEC’s records, and any appearance on ballot papers must be withdrawn pending the final determination of the substantive suit. He clarified that the case itself has not been concluded, noting that the court only vacated its earlier judgment to allow all affected parties to be heard before a fresh decision is made. Ekeocha also dismissed claims that the court merely ordered parties to maintain the status quo, insisting that the ruling specifically restored the position that existed before the December 10, 2025 judgment.

Please refrain from labeling them as bandits. They are actively engaged in combating banditry. A video circulating online falsely claims that a police officer was seen interacting with armed bandits in Katsina State. This allegation is entirely false. The individuals in the video are not criminals. They are members of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria and registered hunters partnering with the Police in ongoing operations in Musawa and Matazu LGAs to combat crime and protect their communities. The video shows a routine interaction between an officer and community security volunteers as they proceed to a designated operational area. Misrepresenting this interaction misleads the public, endangers genuine community security partners, and undermines ongoing efforts to protect these communities. The Nigeria Police Force strongly condemns this distortion. Spreading false security narratives that cause public anxiety and erode trust is not just harmless, it carries legal consequences. To all Nigerians who viewed the video: the individuals shown are partners in your safety. They are vigilantes and hunters working with the Police, not against the law. Please verify information before sharing. Misinformation has serious consequences

NPF CLARIFIES FALSE BANDITRY NARRATIVE IN VIRAL KATSINA VIDEO, REAFFIRMS PARTNERSHIP WITH COMMUNITY SECURITY VOLUNTEERS The Nigeria Police Force categorically disclaims the false and misleading narrative accompanying a viral video circulating on social media which alleges that a uniformed police officer was seen interacting with armed bandits in Katsina State. For the avoidance of doubt, the individuals featured in the video are not bandits. They are duly recognized members of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN) and registered hunters who are actively supporting ongoing security operations in collaboration with security agencies in Musawa and Matazu Local Government Areas of Katsina State. The video captured a routine interaction between a police officer and these security volunteers as they proceeded to a designated operational area in support of efforts to combat criminality and enhance public safety. Any claim suggesting otherwise is entirely false, malicious, and intended to mislead the public. The Nigeria Police Force strongly condemns the deliberate distortion of facts and the circulation of misinformation capable of causing public anxiety, undermining confidence in security institutions, and frustrating ongoing security operations. Members of the public are urged to disregard the misleading claims attached to the video and rely only on information disseminated through official channels of the Nigeria Police Force and other authorized government sources. The Force warns individuals and groups engaged in the creation, publication, or dissemination of false information capable of prejudicing public peace and security to desist immediately, as appropriate legal action may be taken against violators. The Nigeria Police Force remains committed to working with legitimate community-based security stakeholders and other relevant partners in the collective effort to protect lives, safeguard communities, and combat crime across the country. Alhamdulillah! Today, I celebrate 35 years of Allah’s boundless mercy, grace and countless blessings upon my life. Every year has been a chapter of growth, lessons and moments that have strengthened my faith and shaped my journey. I am deeply grateful to Allah for preserving me, guiding my steps, and surrounding me with family, friends, mentors, and well-wishers whose love and support have greatly enriched my life. As I begin this new chapter, I am reminded that life is not measured by the number of years we live, but by the values we uphold, the impact we make, and the lives we touch. My prayer is that Allah grants me greater wisdom, sincerity, humility, good health, and the strength to continue serving humanity with purpose and compassion. At 35, I embrace the future with renewed hope and a commitment to becoming a better servant of Allah and a better contributor to society. I pray that my best days remain ahead and that every opportunity I am given becomes a means of benefiting others. To everyone who has been part of my journey, thank you for your prayers, encouragement, friendship, and kindness. May Allah reward you abundantly and continue to bless us all with long life, barakah, and the privilege of leaving behind a legacy of goodness. Happy 35th Birthday to me. Alhamdulillahi for everything.
