@STOP_Gumbytime @BenJustJamin13 @JoshEberley I really love Nolan but his films are like magic tricks. If you aren’t paying attention to the ridiculous contrivance in the plot then you are completely wowed by what happens next

@JoshEberley Nolan is great…but when you start comparing to Fincher you have to start noticing the plot devices that don’t make sense that only exist so something cool can happen.

The way we talk about GREEN BOOK is fascinating to me, because there’s the hatred around it in cinephile spaces and online circles, and then there are the actual audience scores. It has a higher LB rating than ANORA, THE POWER OF THE DOG, NOMADLAND, THE SHAPE OF WATER, and ARGO.

@avidseries @BestMovieMom The movie wasn’t good, it was Quinten Tarantino stealing scenes from like 10 movies and mashing them together.

Charlize Theron says Uma Thurman should’ve won an Oscar for Kill Bill (2003). She added, “Men get a lot of credit for these movies. What she did was unbelievable.”

Uncomfortable Truths
Uncomfortable Truths@intorabbitholes·
Kyler came here knowing he was going to be the starter. That sht is guaranteed. It'll be a performative competition. Kyler already won, but they'll give the fans something to talk about. I've watched every Viking game since 1987, starting at 13 yo. Less than a year from now, he's going to be your favorite FA Viking of all time. The world will be wowed and AZ will be shamed for wasting that supreme talent. If that happens, JJ is gone, but he's going to be really good no matter where he goes.

Jalen Nailor said he’s rocking with JJ McCarthy to come out on top over Kyler Murray to be the #Vikings QB 1 in September. Nailor says McCarthy just needs more in game reps to showcase his skills: “It’s going to bring the best out of both of them.” 🎥: @UpAndAdamsShow

@CBarrett47 @TylerCWhitmore Totally agree on The Master. I actually like The Master better than There Will Be Blood. The scores aren’t meaningless but they aren’t accurate plenty of the time. It’s useful but I’m often above the field on some films like Place Beyond the Pines (7.3)

@doctahjoness @TylerCWhitmore Honestly I was just searching for an alternative. I think the past 10 years has been pretty bad overall and I haven’t seen most of the ones I posted about so I don’t have a real opinion

@TylerCWhitmore Oppenheimer or Nomadland. But if we're honest, you probably couldnt find a worse ten year string of Best Picture winners going all the way back to the beginning of the Oscars.

100 percent disagree. One of the great film making achievements. Warren Beatty is one of the best directors of the last 50 years. This is a beautifully made film on every level with one of the great Diane Keaton performances. Any person wanting to make a love story that is both small and epic should watch this. In this era of shorter attention spans REDS stands out as what long form storytelling used to be. This used to be what a big screen movie was with our IMAX or special effects - and it is breathtaking. The witnesses alone - real people from the era telling the story interspersed with the films scenes give of a depth and authenticity we never see anymore in studio movies. See REDS!!
Michael Warburton@TheMonologist

Off the back of ‘Bonnie And Clyde’, ‘Shampoo’ & ‘Heaven Can Wait’ WARREN BEATTY was allowed to co-write, produce, direct & star in this fundamentally boring 3hr plus yawn fest. Incredibly it was nom’d for 12 Oscars & won 3. REDS (1981)

''One Battle After Another'' was literal communist agitprop slop. The film is technically brilliant - beautifully shot, perfect sound track, masterful performances. But what is all this technical mastery in service of? Just three hours of tedious, ridiculous libtard revenge fantasy against right wingers. Colonel Lockjaw is the most one dimensional villain in movie history. Compare him to Javier Bardem's Anton Chigurh in ''No Country For Old Men.'' We still debate Chigurh's motivations some 20 years later. He's one of the greatest ever villains, this inscrutable menacing force of nature. By contrast Colonel Lockjaw is just this piñata for Hollywood liberals to beat and ritually humilate. He's the film's stand in for MAGA so he's portrayed as an evil degenerate racist sex addict with literally 0 redeeming qualities whatsoever. They even include a scene where a black female communist anally rapes him while he begs to be further raped. The worst libtard revenge fantasy in history.
