Disney employed 2,200 animators who made Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and Tarzan. By 2013, nearly all of them were gone. Fired. The people who built Disney’s legacy were shown the door because executives thought the problem was 2D animation. It wasn’t. It was bad storytelling.

I really hate the idea that Miyamoto keeps sticking with about the whole story in Mario games thing. its without a doubt why illumination was chosen for these films. they don't care about the quality of the story. just the colors and visuals

I think it’s really baffling that a Wii game from 2007 did a seemingly much better job at making a cinematic and interesting story than the movie adaptation from 2026. How do you manage to make a Mario movie have LESS story than the Mario game you’re adapting lmao.

this is why pacing is so important; not even kids can "just turn their brain off and enjoy it" when the film is so fast paced that it becomes boring & exhausting. it's why kids can struggle to make it through 90 min of this film, but have no problem with 120 min of Spirited Away

The Sonic movies have done the same thing effectively. Respecting the kid side of things AND telling a story that's fun and connectable for adults.

Objectively false. There's a number of mini arcs throughout the different galaxies. Gearmos work for Rosalinas Bowser traps a bunch of them in his giant toy mecha. The Topman tribe have two galaxies where you blow their shit up bc they command the UFO that steals peach's castle

In gonna be honest, this is an exaggeration. Most of Galaxy's story is the storybook, which is a fun, simple story that adds to the game's atmosphere & makes Rosalina more than another dead-behind-the-eyes princess. It does not have more story than any movie, including this one
