Ugandans don’t celebrate deaths of those in government or in NRM or PLU, they celebrate deaths of those who not only directly associated, but Mocked Ugandans, took part in their torture, publicly misused their offices to steal, and deprive Ugandans of their freedoms. When you arrest, take people to the basement, post them in their pajamas, cheer those who do this, I’m sorry but Ugandans will celebrate your death. Before you pull out the Bible Narrative; be reminded that it supports this my narrative. It says in Proverbs 11:10: that a city rejoices when the wicked perish, reflecting relief from the oppression of bad leadership. While Ali was an associate of the oppressive government, I never saw him engaging in things that deprives Ugandans. He was just there minding his business. I could be wrong but I haven’t seen or heard anything myself. May his soul rest in peace….

@DoleYoMwana That’s how I found it. Personally, I understand why you need to have your belt stripped from you on detention. It’s a precautionary measure against hanging self in the cell. But shoes? I am not sure.

Good morning friends. I pray for the sick & those not feeling well this morning. That the same Jesus Christ who healed the leper, the blind & the bleeding woman, will heal you today. I command healing not only to your body, but to your mind. May the peace of God reign in you 🙏🏾

@simple_shamim Does she pick herself or she is given songs to do for the world Cup. Has any international star ever come up to compose a world Cup song and denied a chance to be at that stage. Ask yourself how did the ghetto boy's reach her. They have kept consistency at international stage

Today marks exactly 21 days (three weeks) since the Nation Media Group shut down, the longest closure in the media giant’s history. Previously, Monitor Publications was closed for 10 days in 2002 and 11 days in 2013.

General Edward Katumba Wamala
Today, I join the nation in mourning the passing of a true patriot, soldier, and statesman, Gen. Moses Ali. Gen. Moses Ali loved the Army, which he diligently served for the greater part of his life. This was evident in the meticulous way he wore his uniform, always smart, disciplined, and dignified. He loved his country, which he served with unwavering dedication till the very end. He was an excellent timekeeper, often challenging those who were much healthier than him. Though a General with a commanding stature, he never intimidated those he worked with, including his juniors. The General was a true lover of peace. Together with the late Amin Onzi, he led peace talks between the Uganda National Rescue Front (UNRF I & II) and the NRA/NRM, helping broker peace that restored stability in parts of West Nile, especially Yumbe, Moyo, and Adjumani. Gen. Moses Ali was an Old Boy of Old Kampala Senior Secondary School, which he left in 1966. He belonged to a distinguished generation of military leaders from the school, including Gen. Paul Kagame, Gen. Koreta, Gen. Jim Muhwezi, Gen. Kayemba, and myself, among others. Our country has lost a statesman whose service and legacy will be remembered for generations. May Allah rest his soul in eternal peace.

Rest Thee Well Rt. Hon. Gen. Moses Ali. Will not forget when you summoned me to your office & assigned me to immediately travel to Adjumani to address a serious situation that led to the death of the vice chairman of boda boda, a secondary school student & a policeman leading to burning of part of the police station & threats to lives of people. The week I spent there under your guidance helped me to restore order, address many meetings & set up community policing strategies that resulted in peace within the area. Your call of appreciation will always remain with me as long as I live. 🙏🏾

Banks Are Not Your Fraud Insurance. “Where the customer has authorised and instructed the bank to make a payment, the bank must carry out the instruction promptly. It is not for the bank to concern itself with the wisdom or risks of its customer’s payment decisions.” — Justice Bernard Namanya (adopting Philipp v Barclays Bank UK plc). In Stanbic Bank (Uganda) Ltd v Deus Kamunyu Muhwezi [2026] UGHCCD 221 (High Court Civil Division, Civil Appeal No. HCT-00-CV-CA-0007-2022), A significant decision for banking and commercial law. The High Court has reaffirmed a simple but powerful principle: a bank's duty is to execute a customer's lawful payment instructions not to protect the customer from a bad bargain or an online scam. Although Stanbic mistakenly entered the sender's particulars, the Court found that the funds reached the intended account and were withdrawn by the beneficiary. The error was immaterial because it neither prevented nor altered the transfer. Liability could not be shifted to the bank merely because the customer was allegedly defrauded by the overseas seller. Lesson: Banking negligence ends where proper execution begins. If a bank faithfully carries out your authorised instructions, the commercial risk of dealing with a fraudster remains yours not the bank's. #BankingLaw #Fraud

@FrankTumwebazek @IraUganda Uganda has an insurance training college, and insurance regulatory authority with many other insurance actors. As a minister why don't you visit all the responsible bodies and they explain to you before you misguide the public about a sector you don't understand.

@TheClassMonitor @IraUganda Your insults aside, take trouble to learn & understand the issues. Passing laws has no problem. The issue now is regulation & consumer protection. If you belonged to the affected categories am talking about, u wouldn't be vending insults here.

Colleagues at @IraUganda ,We need a conversation soonest. We the farmers have a serious quarrel with the actors (called insurance companies ) you regulate. Insurance is proving to be a scam sorry to say . While we have provided for in the various laws that insurance cover is mandatory in many sectors like banking (borrowers of agriculture loans mainly-ACF) & braodcasting (for radio broadcasters @UCC_Official, requires insurance cover for all equipment before it issues them a license) , it's a tall order for any one under insurance cover to get his/her claim successfully processed . Many farmers who take ACF loans to for example import Hig pedigree animals rarely get compensated by insurance companies when their insured animals die. Radio broadcasters too same story when natural disasters hit their insured broadcasting equipment. I used to get complaints from radio broadcasters when I was minister of @MoICT_Ug . I am now getting same complaints from farmers as am at @MAAIF_Uganda . We must address this issue or we stop making insurance a mandatory condition/prerequisite for loans and other services . @IraUganda pls we aren't happy . Insurance companies hiding behind frivolous Techenicalities to deny compensation to their clients who have paid hefty premiums is unfair and unacceptable.
