@TheFieryBones @KeenanPeachy Right, as are most in Hollywoood. Almost all movies that are beloved by rw X accounts were made by people who do not identify as conservative or right wing. And that's totally fine.

Reality check: When it actually is time to produce the big movie about the incredible heroic rescue in Iran this weekend, the right still has zero - none - of the capabilities required to produce such a thing and make it a blockbuster, watchable hit. If they do, they're just scattered around, bumping into things aimlessly, occasionally churning out some meh content that makes little impact. Instead, it will be made by people who hate you, hate Trump, and hate the men who pulled this off. They will be the ones who write the checks, acquire the rights, negotiate the deals, hire the screenwriters, cast the actors, make the costumes, direct it, act in it, edit it, market it, and distribute it. There may be a few undercover friendlies in the mix but this will be 100% a production of our enemies. If Tom Cruise, say, or Mel Gibson, for example, produced such a thing, great, but the rest of the operation would still be solidly Hollyweird. It would actually be so easy to found a real studio. A movie studio that's not a political podcast studio LARPing as a movie studio. The hour is so late. Where is this already?

It is. What you described is the film’s critique of religion or at least the church. PTA’s saying both capitalism and religion put on performances that sway the masses. There Will Be Blood is a movie about the battle for the soul of America between religion and capitalism, a battle that religion loses. It’s just as restrained and precise as No Country. But it deals with a larger concept that takes more time to develop and pay off on. No Country is about aging. Hence the title. It’s about Tommy Lee Jones realizing he no longer has a place in the world. If that seems weird because Jones isn’t in much of the movie: that’s the point. He can’t keep up. The opening monologue he tells a story about his youth and how he helped stop a bad guy. But at this age, he can’t. It’s a genius way to represent the theme. Both are masterpieces. If you have two movies that both hit home runs every time they take a swing, the winner is the one that takes more swings. That’s TWBB.
