@scoota_fire @cookie280785 I assume they are the same people who are almost always unhappy with the 'state of the game'. I've seen some good games, I've seen some bad games. The good games have involved the teams at the pointy end of ladder. 🙄 Squidward has some tips for those getting frustrated:

@TheFollicle @cookie280785 It’s making lockdown more frustrating. People are turning it off. They’re damaging the game and I think it will be harder to get it back to where it should be. Players playing for free kicks also ruining the game. Only my opinion, everyone’s different but I know many are unhappy

AFL want the game moving quickly yet they spend 30 seconds every ball up figuring out who has nominated for the ruck and boundary umpires spend a minute preparing to throw the ball in. Games Gaaaawwwwn

@scoota_fire @cookie280785 Yeah sure maybe, but it's never been black and white and surely we can give the league a pass given the current circumstances, I'd forgive them if their focus was elsewhere. Spoke to my brother in Melbourne yesterday and the main thing getting him through lockdown is AFL on TV!

@TheFollicle @cookie280785 Not the umpires themselves but the rules and interpretations that the AFL are giving them. Holding the ball, ruck free kicks, deliberate, push in the back - all cooked at the moment and no one knows how they’ll be interpreted between different umpires and game to game.

@scoota_fire @cookie280785 Took a lot of self control to hold off this long 😂 I tend to agree with the mostly unwatchable part but not sure it's even 20% attributable to umpiring. Many variables at play. They're doing their best. Reduce the interchange rotations to account for shortened games to start!

@TheFollicle @cookie280785 Took a lot longer for you to chime in than expected Forrington. When Swans are rubbish it’s nice to be able to watch neutral games, unfortunately they’ve been unwatchable. Can’t say im the only one thinking this.

One of the few positive effects of these scary times is the increased interest in skateboarding. It’s been uplifting to see so many learning to skate in their “downtime.” I believe they’re in pursuit of the same feeling this Ukrainian girl got when she landed her first kickflip.
