Okay, so, I'm not going to say the Tower of Babel was a real thing that existed, but this is ignoring the point of the mythological story. Nimrod believed in God, but considered himself to be his equal. He built the Tower of Babel so he could challenge God. By compelling people to participate in its construction, Nimrod was essentially making people turn away from God to trust in their own strength, and defy his command to spread around the world and multiply. God responded by confounding their languages and forcing them to scatter, and destroyed the tower to humble them. It wasn't that they were trying to reach the heavens. It's why they did it. A bunch of bronze age savages thought they could do the impossible. Thousands of years later, after the advent of Newtonian physics, and a World War which showed mankind why they needed to quit acting like apes fighting over a banana tree, Man was ready to reach the heavens. Not to prove he was better than God, but to better understand His creation. I'm not even a Bible-thumping Christian and I know this. Even if you don't take the story literally as an actual historical event, there's a lesson and warning against the folly of unchecked ambition and people concerting toward impossible goals doomed to disaster. Reaching the heavens is possible, but not before you're ready. Cautionary tales against trying to do things before you're ready are common in mythology. The story of Bellerophon trying to fly on Pegasus to Mount Olympus is one such story.

@AI_EmeraldApple It doesn't really matter that you can destroy it with a ballistic missile. Hardened structures like this still matter in warfare because it raises the force needed to defeat the forces defending that area. Yeah, you wiped it out with a missile, but what if you only had infantry?

The Iranian military really thought a 1300s-style medieval castle design would really work in the 21st century?!?! Wasted all that time building the round towers, battlements, and the entire "castle" look, and it gets fuking deleted in milliseconds. Of course, it doesn't matter if they build it deep inside mountains because we can still blow them up with our massive ordnance bunker busters. The IRGC really has nowhere to hide, and the idiotic propagandists are acting like Iran is winning, LMAO.

@nicholadrummond Iran has roughly three times the land. Iraq is flat as a board which makes invasion easy. Iran is almost entirely comprised of mountains. Roughly 5,000 US troops died and around half a million people died in Iraq. Iran has a far greater military to Iraq. Hell on Earth to come.

I'm old enough to remember the Gulf Wars of 1991 and 2003. At the time, the doom-mongers amongst us suggested that any land attack against Saddam Hussein's forces, especially his elite Republican Guard units, would end in disaster. They said we would sustain unacceptable casualties, that oil prices would spike, and the world economy would be plunged into recession. But Operation Desert Storm was an outstanding success. George Bush Sr. could have so easily driven to Baghdad to remove Saddam from power. But he left that job to his son. Today, with Iran, I'm seeing all of the same fears being recycled. Sure, Iran has a more capable military than Iraq had and is better prepared to resist a US attack. So, yes, it will likely take longer to dismantle the regime. But the fact that factions within Iran have requested talks shows that results are being achieved. This won't be a "forever war. " What makes sensible discussion about this difficult is what some people are calling "Trump Derangement Syndrome." The idea that someone so outspoken, bombastic, and egotistical as DJT could possibly do something good is anathema to his enemies. They hate the idea that Trump could succeed - by ridding the world of a major sponsor of terrorism and a regime that has slaughtered thousands of its own people - so much, that they happily defend the Ayatollah. I make no comment pro or against Trump. Instead, I note that any Western power might try to do the same thing if it had the means. Of course, it could go wrong, and it could take longer. And, yes, DJT could have consulted his allies first, and, yes, we can review his approach later, and suggest a different course of action, but sometimes the ends justify the means.

The Iranian regime is walking straight into a U.S. trap by rejecting the proposal. Let me explain, if the U.S. sent in ground troops without a clear trigger, like Iran rejecting a 15-point ceasefire, the global backlash would tilt toward Iran. Trump knows that. He’s set it up so that if Iran refuses, he has the pretext to escalate to save the people of Iran, if it accepts, Washington still comes out ahead. Either way, the regime loses.

So let me get this straight. The war with Iran (the regime, not the people) has been going on for two weeks now. Just two weeks. In that time, the regime leadership has been completely decimated. Missile production has been destroyed. Missiles fired from the regime have dwindled—declining daily. Their navy, obliterated. Their infrastructure of oppression is being bombed to hell. The forces on the ground now run away when they hear the sound of drones. This high pressure chipping away of a militarily sophisticated enemy is unprecedented in its speed, scope and precision. It’s almost unbelievable. But randos online, political commentators (and even leaders who should know better!) brainlessly say things like: “They’re losing”. “They don’t have a plan”. “America is now stuck in a war it can’t escape”. “This is Israel’s war”. “This is illegal”. “This is a forever war”. It’s genuinely one of the most retarded moments I’ve ever lived through. It’s like people have either shut off their brains, or they’re acting maliciously. I’m still figuring out which it is. Before our very eyes, we’re seeing one of the most consequential moments of modern history. We’re witnessing the exorcism of a demonic Islamic regime that has brutalised the Iranians and destabilised the Middle East for years! An enemy that believes the world needs to be in chaos for their Mahdi to appear. Lunatics that want to see the world subdued. A world without this threat is a better world for everyone. America and Israel will pull this off, and reap all the rewards. While the brainless European leaders—who did nothing—will become even more irrelevant on the world stage.

🇮🇷 🇺🇸 🇮🇱 Sometimes I ask myself, why is Iranian senior leadership not in bunkers like their counterparts? Judging by how most of them were killed in their homes and offices, which in war would be the last place to be considering the fact that your enemies already know where your office and home are, isn’t it wise to seek shelter in bunkers and secret houses? is this some kind of ideology that no one is more important than anyone else? Everyone is equal and the war is for all of the country?

The Strait of Hormuz was supposed to end Trump’s presidency. Iran blocked it. Oil spiked. Gas prices surged. The plan was simple… crush the American worker with inflation until the political pressure forced a retreat. But the trap inverted. The oil market has fractured into two tiers. $100 in America. $150 in Asia. China, India, Japan, South Korea… the nations that refused to send warships when Trump asked… are now paying 50% more per barrel than the country that launched the war. Demand destruction has started across Asia. Schools closing. Workers sent home. Petrol pumps running dry in Southeast Asia. Meanwhile American refineries are actually increasing output, running on light sweet crude that never touches Hormuz. Trump told them to help open the Strait. Every single one refused. NATO said it wasn’t their war. China negotiated selective passage from a destroyed regime. Japan declined. Australia declined. Now the Strait is doing to them what it was designed to do to Trump.

What have I been saying for three weeks?! (Yes three) IDC what the price of oil climbs to, as long as it remains global. The real danger is it starts to fracture between nations and regions.

People laughing that Trump is “begging for help” completely miss the point. He didn’t walk into this conflict unprepared. He’s a brilliant strategist, surrounded with the best around him. Israel & the Arabs were the only nations he really needed for this operation. Asking allies to step up was a loyalty test. Who stands with the West when it matters and who hides. Moments like this expose the real value of alliances. Those who refuse to stand up in the most decisive fight for global stability shouldn’t expect to enjoy the benefits of the order that follows. 🤷🏻‍♀️

If you believe that the United States is fighting a war for Israel, then I'm going to believe that you might have consumed paint chips as a child. Fighting a war WITH allies is FAR different than fighting a war FOR one. They are not remotely the same. Mutually aligned causes are often what facilitate the alliance. The United States is not beholden to Israel. We share a mutual interest in the overthrow of the Iranian regime. For Israel, it's the right to exist. For America, it's ending a regime that has killed thousands of Americans, funds cartels to smuggle jihadis into America, funds domestic terrorists, provides skills training to terrorists, funds the drug trade, and on and on and on. We receive FAR more from Israel than we have ever invested into them. The very ability to actually execute this war effectively is largely due to Israel's intelligence work within the middle east. They lead the world in that, and we'd be wholly ineffective without it. The amount of American lives saved through this partnership vastly surpasses the lives lost. 70% of every dollar we send them MUST be spent purchasing products from us. On average we send them $5 Billion a year. They send us $40 billion. The missile defense systems they use were built in partnership with us. Which means every time they have drawn fire upon them, and their lives are targeted, we get to update our own missile defense algorithms making us safer. All of the news about America defeating Venezuela and Iran command and control by our massive cyber attacks, guess where we get that from? Israel leads the world in cyber capabilities and they share that with us. Fighting along side such allies is America First especially when their interests align with our own. America is not fighting a war FOR Israel. We are fighting one WITH Israel and THANK GOD we have them on our side!

Treason has a legal definition. Article III. Look it up. It means levying war against America or giving aid and comfort to its enemies. A president destroying the navy and missile program of a country that killed 1,000+ Americans and was weeks away from nuclear breakout capability is the constitutional opposite of treason. You can oppose this war on policy grounds. You would be wrong but it’s debatable. What you’re saying is either agit prop or basic constitutional ignorance. Neither of which is a good look.
Harrison H. Smith ✞@HarrisonHSmith

Starting a war for the benefit of a foreign state is Treason. It’s beyond the technical nuances around “authorization of force” or “imminent threats” Israeli sway over our government is a clear and present threat to our national security.
