Its been a while since I have been on this account. If it seems empty, that's because I try to keep this professional and leave all my sports shenanigans to the other one. I don't have many followers because I didn't engage much with this account. For the last decade I have been watching arguments about history that are invalid and incomplete and now it might be time to get involved. Now that I have re-entered the academic world, it is time for me to get into the arena. I am pinning this up for anyone who is trying to figure out who I am and why I had an account for a decade with only a handful of posts. I have not been absent, I have just been in Clubber Lang mode doing intellectual and research workouts in the basement, away from public eyes, awaiting my time. 20 years of researching history, anthropology, archaeology and other subjects without the trap of being bogged down into dogma and the hamster wheel of production or the bottleneck of academia. I have produced an album that is out and written a book that will rewrite our understanding of the origins of the American Mafia and I have developed an AP app that will allow individuals and institutions to curate their own historical tours and information. Hello, I am Charles Tolman and I am here to give all the history to all the people all of the time.

@ST1401toEndor Speaking as one of them... I end up having to go to the parks with family and friends at least five times a year, so I have annual passes to save on time and money... to make use of them I go often but it doesn't mean I necessarily like what they're doing.

There really needs to be a medical study done on some of these DisTwitter folks. The ones who bitch and complain about every little thing that the company does and everything is going to shit, yet still go to the park daily. Like what is going on in that brain? Do I want to know?

The issue that bugs me the most is that they go after existing attractions instead of using available space or unused buildings. For example, the Universe of Energy was chosen instead of the empty Wonders of Life pavilion. The Rivers of America was chosen over expanding behind Thunder Mountain, like the supposed Villains Land will be anyway. Its not that they are adding something or tweaking it, its that they are removing something instead of replacing something they shut down long ago. Same with Muppets.

Michael Hundgen (Portfolio Executive Creative Producer for Walt Disney Imagineering) on the fact that Disney fans can be skeptical of change, especially when the attractions & resorts are woven into the very core of their childhood memories. “We try to be incredibly aware and thoughtful of that when we make changes.”

So I am doing a webcourse for a requirement for my thesis and came across this. It is interesting to see how the "system" or "academia" views communication of your work. I understand this point of view but I see all the time on here and elsewhere the trouble not "braindumping" can do. There are many bad actors who take the plain or simple responses and then interject a higher level of description to make it look like academics are hiding things, when they are not.

@fiago7 Do it. You won't regret it. There is no logical reason not to have a comfortable room if you can. Even if you are inside for only a few minutes, those minutes of cool air are nice.

We know of atrocities committed by our troops and failed missions. There is no logic or proof that an entire group of marines were killed by a giant. No family has cone forward asking what happened, nothing. There are dozens of examples of incidents the US military would want covered up that we know about which strike this nonsense down. And that's just one side of it. Then, there's the fact that for centuries nobody's ever mentioned giants. Not the Russians, not the British and not the Pashtuns.

Fan Commentary: Joe Rogan Recaps
Joe Rogan might be in real danger after historical investigator Timothy Alberino just leaked classified Pentagon information about a group of Marines who were all killed by a single unarmed 1,100 pound humanoid in Afghanistan: ALBERINO: “A team of Marines in Afghanistan stormed a cave hunting for Taliban, but they were instead met by an enormous giant who killed them all.” ROGAN: “WHAT?! That’s the craziest thing I’ve ever heard. So the giant just got away?” ALBERINO: “They then deployed another unit to go look for that team. When the team got to the cave that giant was in the middle of eating the dead soldiers.” ROGAN: “You can’t be serious. So what did the giant do to this unit?” ALBERINO: “This new unit went in fully prepared so they were able to successfully kill the giant.” ROGAN: “Did you ever try to find records of who was there and what casualties were reported?” ALBERINO: “It’s very difficult to get that kind of information.” ROGAN: “I’m sure.” ALBERINO: “The Pentagon released a bizarre statement years ago saying that the giant Kandahar incident never happened.” ROGAN: “The Pentagon actually said this? That makes me feel sketchy.” ALBERINO: “The pilot told me they weighed the giant before loading him on the plane. He got measured at 10-12 feet tall and 1,100 pounds.” ROGAN: “1,100 pounds? That can’t be a human. Who else have you spoken with about this?” ALBERINO: “I asked a commander about the Kandahar giant. The blood rushed out of his face and he points to his phone because he thought they might be listening. His wife then whispered to me that he’s not allowed to talk about that.” ROGAN: “Ohhh my god.” ALBERINO: “What I later learned is that it’s not the single giant of Kandahar, it’s the GIANTS. There’s more than one.”

@SoilManDan This is a mess. I spend a lot of time on my other account arguing about sports. I'm telling you, this is not a fight worth having. You can engage in intellectual combat only so long before it takes it toll. Stay sane, brother.

Edward Norton explains why he's concerned about American exceptionalism "I don't want to use too harsh a word but I think if you're lucky enough to travel, you'll see something that I don't think a lot of Americans do" "We have this enduring narrative of American exceptionalism you know like America's cultural superiority" "I don't think people fully grasp the degree to which we're going to ghettoize ourselves in terms of education, in terms of health, and in so many other areas" "You know, we're not anywhere near the top of what other people are experiencing" "If we keep embracing this idea of pride in regression, where is that going to take us?" "It's not going to take us to a place that we're happy about for our kids"

@Morrilo4 @complexsplit @0xleegenz LoL you have a graph that doesn't show what you think it does. It shows arrivals, not acceptances and not applications. Foreign students still want to come. Inidian have been discouraged from applying, which is part of that decline as many universities focus on US students.

@TheGr8Historian @complexsplit @0xleegenz I don’t care if its many or not, it’s not some dumb debate to win; it’s a trend to be noted. Up to you if you want to consider it or not, i frankly don’t care

@complexsplit @0xleegenz And? Still shows how many international students are coming. Americans aren't abandoning our universities and going abroad in the same numbers as people coming here for a reason.

I think lack of buzz is just fine. Because the pressure isn't on them, until about game 5 or 6. They're going to have that thing that all good UCF teams have, which is a chip on their shoulder. We are much better as the underdog than we are the bully. By game 4 we will know what we have. If we are 3-1 then there should be a buzz. If we are 2-2 then its another slog of a season where we hope to be bowl eligible.

@jagoff33 @TheGr8Historian @SSN_UCF I’m ngl the lack of buzz this year seems to push down the positivity this year, our defense last year was surprisingly decent but nobody ever mentions it, I think we could do really good with our new roster

@DramaAlert I went to this school from 2002 to 2012 and got a few degrees. I am back there now. It is like an alternate universe to see the campus now with cell phones and all the cultural changes in time since my last degree. It is weird to have memory of what was before.
