@goatz88800 That’s too short a time to buy anything so I just start paying off all family debts like crazy, find some charities and send funds over there, and then find the quickest, easiest way to buy expensive merch that I can resell.

@SafiDish @Bryan60112 lol that’s a lot of strong opinions you’re spouting over a situation between a guy with a history of being a bit of a simpering skeeze vs a standard issue Hollywood brat. They both behaved poorly at times and they’ve both taken a hit. It’s probably gonna be fine.

@JohnnyOfSparta @zackpeter lol love the craft here but you don’t think that’s maybe a little melodramatic? It’s very Dan Humphrey-coded. Maybe you should’ve been on GG with her.

@zackpeter She is satanic. Let us not forget how she treated Leighton Meester on the set of GG. The reason she was able to play Serena is because she is naturally a vapid, insidious cunt with zero ability to self-reflect. In other words, she just played herself.

It’s truly diabolical how after 2 years of this mess, she can just settle & walk away Scott-free with zero remorse. And then get the praise of Variety & the Met Gala after lodging false allegations — that were ultimately dismissed by a judge.
Variety@Variety

Blake Lively was all smiles at the #MetGala hours after settling her lawsuit with Justin Baldoni. Lively stunned in an archival 2006 Atelier Versace multi-colored and layered pastel gown inspired by Venetian Rococo paintings and Baroque churches. variety.com/2026/film/news…

@RizWanKenobi_ I actually can walk to a grocery store, a diner, a bagel shop, and a pharmacy, and if I want to walk a 1-2 miles, I can get to two Chinese restaurants, an ice cream shop, a cider mill, and a few different service-type places. Not all suburbs are like this. This is all so dumb.

If you are so mentally, emotionally and morally vulnerable that you can’t engage with the world around you and compartmentalize information even a little bit, then you should probably go back to grade school.

honestly i'm this close to quitting reading for good. every single author i actually love turns out to be problematic or worse. i'm so tired of finding out after i already got attached. feels like i can't enjoy anything anymore without a background check first

The Boomification of Millenials is reaching advanced stages. We are now at “I’m Gen X and I drank from the garden hose” levels of cringe. Soon the Boomification will metastasize, the cascading effects will be irreversible and Millenials will transform into Boomers

@uncle_julien @teachrobotslove Economic structure is a tool for people to wield. It is as much driven and shaped by people. People will find a way to be petty, self-interested, and difficult under any system they devise and believing otherwise just says you should have no hand in developing a new structure.

Your mother is problematic. Your father is problematic. Your son is problematic. Your aunt is problematic. The cashier at the local Tesco is problematic. You've probably bought a cookie from a bakery made by hands that have done unspeakable things. Every chocolate bar you've ever eaten has probably killed a 7 year old child slave in Cameroon. The gas that drives your car is fueled by engines of death. Every person who has ever smiled at you in the streets has committed some act that if you knew about it, would make you profoundly dislike them. We have all been bad, small, petty, unlikeable, cruel, downright mean. Authors are not special "problematic" beings, they're just more public. Part of being an adult is recognizing that without mercy for our fellow human beings, and ourselves, we'd all be condemned to death. Reading fiction should help us understand that we're all irreparably tainted with evil, every system is corrupted, every line is broken. And like, that's okay. That's what it means to be alive.

@theHellen_ Very poetic. So if there’s no such thing as real bread in the U.S., what do we call the substance masquerading as bread? Do we have a different name for the material made in modern ovens when for example it’s made by award-winning bakers trained in France?

@TheLPLoudon @oliveegger It’s not important at all. For me thats what makes it funny. In reality it’s ridicules and shows how dishonest or dumb people are when comparing countries.

I’ve never been to Europe. I’m told the bread is good. I’m fairly privileged that in my middle America town I can get bread from a French-trained baker, a bakery owned by German immigrants, and Korean-French fusion bakery and those are just my favorites within a quick drive.

On the European vs American bread debate: Why are we so up in arms about this that people feel the authority to speak for entire countries and continents, staking out hardline positions and raging at anyone who dares provide proof that you can find good bread in both regions?

@__whataburger @oliveegger Why is it so important to establish that Americans have worse bread than Europeans? I know this is putting you on the spot and I’m sorry but I’m just really curious why people are speaking for the entirety of countries and continents.

@ouranometrian2 @aitch_bar lol low key I think when Americans go on vacation they’re so excited and upbeat so everything tastes better. Meanwhile Europeans are more inclined to find fault. Good American bakery bread is probably on par with good European bakery bread. It’s all just dumb cultural nonsense.

@aitch_bar I wonder what is different? Maybe batch size makes a difference? Could just be different recipes. Maybe freshness? Idk i dont really like quick breads and prefer something with long fermentation. Just tastes better. I also like crispy crust with squishy insides

I think it's because wonder bread got equated with america. like even the bread I usually get only has 2g of added sugar and adding sugar is pretty standard in most types of quick bread? it's why they are quick..

Is every single person have some sort of mental illness about American bread? Here is a “sourdough” loaf, baked and sold AT WALMART. It has ZERO grams of added sugar, less than may French baguettes in France…
